I have done opiates maybe about 3 times since 1991. Although the bit where you want to be violently ill isn’t fun, I can defo understand why the other effects of these drugs are enticing.
in the 1990s I saw way to many people though got caught up by it as a “comedown/afterparty drug”
its also not amazing when friends, partners, parents, cops, NHS have to pick up the impact and it shapes their views on how they view all drug users and the rave scene.
A lot of the people who have been adversely affected by others’ drug use are now in positions of power and influence (or the experiences have driven them to seek these positions to “do something about it”) and its at that point they get their payback..
