    Way Out West-Laurel and Hardy:laugh_at:

Duck Soup-The ‘one and only’ Marx Brothers.:laugh_at:

Midnight Express (can’t believe I’ve not noticed this on here) and The Shawshank Redemption. (The 2 best prison genre films EVER made IMO).

A Taste Of Honey and Saturday Night Sunday Morning (Kitchen sink dramas).

Cape Fear (The Original one By Far)

    Goodfellas

    Kill Bill 1 and 2

    Kes.

    Blue Velvet-David Lynch

Wild at Heart-David Lynch (Nicolas cage and Laura Dern(swoon) )

Drugstore Cowboy-(The absolutely gorgeous Matt Dillon)

    Straw Dogs-Dustin Hoffman

Some Like It Hot-Marillyn Monroe and Tony Curtis

Jason and the Argonauts (What’s xmas without it)?

    And finally but no means least my favourite movie of all time;

    THE EXORCIST.

(Sorry for going on for so long, but these films are the ‘creme de la creme’ to me.

    Safe Ravers.

    Classic hey doc.
“Casper wat ya doing lad” (When he was sat on the crossbar).
When Brian Glover ran on the football field to the tune of 5 live sports report and one of the kids said “who are you today sir, Liverpool”?
Glover replied “LIVERPOOL! don’t you know your club colours? “Manchester United of course. And then he breaks out into his commentary. “And as the slightly balding Bobby Charlton takes to the pitch in this FA Cup tie between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur” To which one of the kids replies “but sir you’re usually Dennis Law?” Glover said “Law is in the wash this week”.
Absolutely hilarious. I know it’s a cliche but they just don’t make ’em like that anymore. Actually doc in the first year of secondary school we did ‘A kestral for a knave’ in English lit. And guess who had to read outthe page when caspaer woke up and started saying to his brother.
“Bastard bastard drunken pig, bastard bastard drunken pig” I was only 12 ans couldn’t read it out load through LOL. Sorry for ramblin on doc. No bloody sleep again.:crazy_diz :crazy_diz

I just finished reading that 😉

Problem with that film with me was they were smacked up on coke and buzzing their bollocks off on gear. Hmmm sack the researcher.
      Safe raver.

Problem with that film is a lot of people watch it thinking it’s about the perils of drug abuse. Obviosuly drugs is a heavy feature but if you look past the use of drugs as a focus it’s about addiction and obsession and how it can destroy things and turn you inside out.

Arronofsky (sp?) doesn’t mention what the drugs are, there is just a little cut sequence when people take them that shows various different methods and effects. There are also a lot of other addictions within the film.

Have you seen La Haine. Thats a quality french film as well.
      other films..
      Flash Gordon
      The Basketball Diaries
      A Waking Life
      A Scanner Darkley
      Chopper
      Happy Gilmore

bit of a random collection, first ones that came into my head tho.

I know man. It was a top film. I was just being a pedant.
Anyway how’s it goin’ man? LOng time no ‘speak’.

No worries, I’m a huge pedant myself at times.

Yeah, I’m good mate. Glad to see you back on the board. Hope life is treating you well.

ASD: Top film. Still haven’t read the book and apparently it’s much better.

Chopper: Read his book then watched the film. I tend to think he is a good story teller but obviously is a nutter all the same. Love the coke scene.

Happy Gilmore: Watched with low expectations and now it’s up there with my favourite comedy films…. easy going silly comedy.

yeah i agree but Baraka is just so goddam beautiful and then so searing it reduces me to tears of horror every time i watch it (the closest thing to a good trip gone bad i can think of)

I’ve got it on video but havent watched it for ages, just can’t bring myself to at the mo

Never heard of Baraka but it sounds quite interesting. Seems there is a sequel in production: Samsara

If you get a chance watch it, its stunning imo but you’ve been warned (its also possible i’m a bit of a soft sod but i think it would get to anyone with half a soul).

Samara sounds interesting, thanks for that BT i hadn’t heard anything about it

I might have to check that out i didnt realise it was a book first.

Tarifa: Yeah I’ll probably check it out. No doubt it will affect me if it’s a bit emotional. By the sounds of the content it will do.

Process: Yeah, Philip k Dick wrote it, who also wrote plenty of other books that have been adapted to film eg Bladerunner, Total recal, Minority Report and others.

Its not a flim as you know it. Its views of the world in pictures (that’s too simplistic a term but i’m too tired to explain any better)

its beautiful but its also haunting

anyone else seen it? can explain any better than me?
