Do any free parties go on in Newbury? I haven’t heard of any and no one I know has ever mentioned any in the Newbury area. So, does anyone know of any or where they generally happen?

hi there – welcome to partyvibe! Until recently I lived in Reading and have been raving in the Thames Valley for some time..

There are or were raves in the West Berkshire area for many years, since 1991 or so!

Unfortunately, people overdid things in the same areas and the cops clamped down. One chap got an ASBO recently for using the same parts of the Ridgeway over and over again…

There are still plenty of ravers in the Thames Valley area though…

Shame I never get to hear about these and keep having to drive to sodding Wales ?!?! It used to be nice to jump on the M4 for a junction or two and then in 30-40 mins you were at the party…………..these days it seem to be about 3 hours a party 🙁

Thats was one quality party. We came down after the slough one got busted. Lovin the drum n bass/jungle tek thats was bein played :bigsmile:

i dj psytrance and live in newbury, its been pretty hard to find anywhere ive been out of touch for a while and looking to play some spots but ive heard nothing and have been asked by no-one 🙁 but the ridgeway was the spot as it where the last one i went to was a while ago down there

there will be stuff happening in the area! twill be quite hushhush and varied in location as 2 not over bosh any one place..keep your ear 2 tha ground…tekno !n awoods near uuuu

There was a big party down Hambridge lane near the Meridean News centre in January 2002; that was the last one in Newbury…

They’re a rarity i’m afraid in this area!!

nah there was some out towards ermmmm that forest place near speen crap i live like 10 mins away i can never the name! last year anyway end off 2006. got it! snelsmore common? dont no about the spelling but there you go, all psy and tech was great theres loads more in newbury this year ive hopefully arranged for liquid records to do a party here after putting up a thread in psy-forum.com and pleading for local support was a bit weird when a record label emails you personally and well ill post up when i hear more, otherwise i no one organiser whos dying to get newbury back on the map, watch this space!

Are you talking about club nights or proper warehouse parties??

Well all i can say is in summer 2006 is i went to about 3 parties within a month all fairly close to newbury, very well known rigs too.

no warehouses round here chaparoo, only fields and apparently some bunkers but ive never heard of or been to a bunker party near newbury. Theres been quite a few barn ones but there a little further out, newburys good for a good old field party i find.
