Slight change of promotion tactics are in order I think, so here goes…
On the 31st MAY
There’s a freeparty, 20ish mins from Bradford, a couple of lovely soundsystems, a nice view, a pleasant crowd and with any luck a sunny sky!
Music to include lots of techno, house, breaks, drum and bass, dubstep, dub, reggae and all those other things that I probably forgot..
Anyone interested in further direction send me a PM and I’ll do my best to respond pretty sharpish
Just a couple of favours we ask of you –
Please be respectful, if it came in your car it can leave in your car, even if it is empty! (meaning, please dont leave loads of rubbish…)
Please try share cars as much as possible, and park wisely
Please try your hardest to bring some firewood
Hahaha I wonder what the bradford police are gonna be waiting for on the 31st may!?!?!?!?1:you_crazy
Most likely for the clubs to shut, haha
The last party we had they turned up as we were setting up, I showed them round and had a nice chat with them, they wished me happy birthday and then left…
and spent the rest of the night directing stragglers to the party
I don’t know what the Northern scene is like but I’d still be a bit careful. I get the impression some constabularies aren’t “that bothered” but this is exactly how things used to be down south for many years and then it ended up in the lockdown
Even during the “good times” there were occasions where cops would complain more about a event being mentioned online than if it was just promoted within the local area…or something happens at a party (not necessarily the one you are mentioning) what makes the cops suddenly “bothered”
incidentally posts on here are now indexed by search engines within seconds, and it would be possible for anyone with sufficient knowledge to use RSS feeds to automatically scan this site for new posts (and archive them on their own local server) as soon as they appear..
Doom and gloom as per usual.
don’t be sad 😥
Perhaps some of us just don’t want to see the same things happen North of Kings Lynn what have already gone on down South.
have a look at threads from 2003/04 from SE England or East Anglia. The “good times” here weren’t in the distant past, they were just a few years ago. maybe even a few months ago in the case of Norfolk..
Perhaps its not so much a case of “don’t do parties” or wanting something bad to happen but being aware of how “free speech” has unintentional negative effects and how problems on this scene are like slow cancer… a lockdown can happen months after the cops collate various bits of info ranging from statements of contamination from landowners/Defra/FC to drug-relatied crime statistics and addiction rates from the NHS…..
This is also now a very high profile site. It was only recently mentioned on national media, is used by local media in some areas as a source and is well known to authorities worldwide. In this climate sometimes its better to chat about the party after its happened succesfully…
Is Leeds near Bradford? the cops there are already closely monitoring the web for anything vaguely illegal/anti-social and starting to “have words” with those involved..even minor stuff like flashmobs/groups getting together on facebook is being watched..

every single post about partys on here ends in doom n gloom.
The one about the sheffield party was OK – there’s also been a few even about SE England and EA parties which went off well – although we have to be careful about pics/names / locations etc..
once we used to have detailed and positive reviews of loads of parties, on this site and even on SJ. Photos too, loads of them. The cops gathered all this info and then used it against many people, the ravers ended up doing the evidence gathering for free…
Also our generation fucked things up for the next by overdoing the drugs and being complacent about party organisation during the “good times” and some (although admittedly less) of the youths are also still falling into this trap with ketamine and even smack.
There’s a whole “normal society” out there what has to pick up the pieces of this, and they are increasingly saying they’ve “had enough” and are asking the cops to investigate and clamp down on these unlicensed events.
As far as they are concerned these events are just “crime” and every careless word can cause problems..
Haha, maybe I shouldn’t bother… already had like 3 private messages about it tho so not all doom and gloom
I think the thing is in Bradford we dont proper rinse it. Even when there’s good times we only do things like this a few times a year, and its always pretty good size
If you try and drag 9 massive soundsystems into a field every week ur gonna piss people off…
quality not quantity ya dadada

you may be alright provided it stays like that and you don’t get “invaded” by crews from another county/region and/or people don’t get complacent
this is what it used to be like in East Anglia and SE England, what you are doing is like how crews were down here in 2000-2002, then kids who were inspired by the better raves somehow acquired loads of rigs of their own (i.e through selling drugs) and started setting up less well run parties..
That said your land is less expensive / wilder and not as popular for growing stuff on so the farmers don’t get as angry, plus weather limits the length of the “rave season” compared to the south…
sorry people but im stickin with mrAHC tis true all seems to end in doom n gloom!!
unfortunately thats the way its going in many parts of the country – we had 20 years to make this scene look a bit more socially concious and positive but to most “normal” people we are still viewed as a bunch of drug users and criminals – OK no way as evil as serial killers or terrorists but still breaking laws and causing problems.
Some here are battling addictions (and fair play to getting out of that bad situation) whilst others may have fought them but it doesn’t erase the problems they caused to society whilst addicted and unfortunately a lot of people went down that route during the 90s.
if times were really that good, why does everyone in some regions have to be so careful about posting stuff (or can’t find many parties), and why are people on this site abandoning raves / party lifestyles and even joining the forces?
Why are anti-terrorist police tactics being used to stop parties in some regions, with what appears to be the full support of the normal public? I’ve not even seen the “yoghurt weaver” contingent or human rights activists challenge the lockdown in the local media, even environmental types have gone against outdoor parties..
why was a raver from SW England putting “anti ketamine scare flyers” on here just a few days ago, stuff we would have laughed at a few years back but the problems he mentioned are now true?
why are some of my young friends just out of their teens still getting addicted and going through hell including becoming estranged from their familes and even prison?
raves aren’t totally dead, theres loads of licensed events and TENS events are still possible but the way things are going unlicensed events are going to be harder and harder to put on or even impossible in some regions (and about a quarter if not more of the country is on lockdown) however much it hurts us to realise this.

so should we all quit? i meen i feel like quiting once every couple of weeks but still carry on…
its posts like this one i’m quoting that pop up on every free party thread. were all aware of the problems we face but still go ahead.
i have been on the scene in one way or another for around 15 years and have seen the changes for good and bad but i’m still here, though at the moment i need a holiday to say thje least…
if you’re lucky enough to live in a region where parties are still tolerated than carry on but be aware that things can change at any time – all it takes is a couple of badly run parties and/or a change in the senior ranks of your local cops – which is what happened in Norfolk.
The worst part of it is the good crews get fucked over because the worse crews bring it on top.
in some areas its got to the point where the cops will use everything they have to close down a party, and if people fight the cops fight back and win.
How can people “carry on” doing unlicensed events if they end up losing a rig every time, other than reluctantly move more towards legal venues, or events under TENS licenses?
This is what is slowly happening in the East of England – maybe TENS is an acceptable compromise after people had 20 years to organise free parties “properly” and let everything slip. I’ve been to events with TENS which were indistinguishable from free parties other than not having to worry about 100 riot cops rushing the site when everyone is on a comedown.
Also the more “blatant” people are online the more backlash it causes, especially on a site like this what is read by all sorts. Those who disagree with us won’t challenge us directly, they will work behiind the scenes to use our own info against us.
