Still, we ARE always doom and gloom about them though! Probably because we’re all bitter and twisted old ravers who haven’t had a decent party to go to in years!
I’m seriously considering giving it a year, then moving up north for a summer just to enjoy the ‘golden years’ again before it all goes tits up!
God we’re depressing…………:laugh_at:
There were at least 3 excellent ones last year in our region and I’m sure I met you at one of them. There are even some fairly positive threads on them but deliberately a bit wooly about time/places etc for security reasons.
not sure what you class as a decent party but the ones in EA were actually way better than those in SE England or London! OK they don’t have the massive rigs but many of people are way friendlier and there was far less trouble.
What I’m more worried about is how quickly people a fraction of my age actually do give up or get burned out or overdo things, how quickly it got all way too sketchy and how a minority of scum and a few more indiscreet idiots got a entire region locked down within the space of a few months.
That needs to be discussed at every opportunity to see if theres any way of salvaging things. I’ve been doing it for 17 years but not seen things get on top like this before, even when there was the first CJA or the first problems with excessive drug use and/or media scares..

i’ve been around nigh on as long as you have but sometimes you talk to me as though i’ve been around for 2 mins. i’m finding it hard to stay positive about the party scene yet again at the min and life in general.
i think we should let each crew deal with how they do there events, so long as there not trashing the countryside or property, kickin off with the ob or harming anyone..

my comments are not directed personally at you or any other individual but the way crews from the North are posting loads of info in a public forum that may eventually be used against them in the same way that happened in other regions.
I’m surprised you aren’t positive about your local party scene as the parties in the North mentioned on here seem to be well run and none of those bad things have yet happened, apart from in Manchester. If East Anglia was still like that the clampdown may not have happened.
The risk is more from them being a “victim of their success”, with other more sketchy / people crews jumping on the bandwagon and then the people who shouted loud and gave lots of info (even if they are from decent run crews) being also hauled up. I say this as its happened to a fair few people I know.
This has been going on for some months now and I just see a repeat of what happened down south as people will move to the North. I expect you are fully aware how close North Norfolk is to Yorkshire, and that until petrol become prohibitively expensive how extra rigs from people with no stake in the local scene can easily “invade” for a weekend.
As for the rest of your life, there’s nothing I personally can do about that. If you are still not feeling good about life when things are good in your area then maybe a change of direction is a better idea (if you can actually beat your addictions and get into the Army at the top of the accepted age range that would be a very positive achievement)

i didnt ask you to do anything to help my life just making a point to my frame of mind. i’m quite positive about the scene in the north just not about my own crew, rig & myself.
one moment you say “don’t give up”, then you claim you are not enjoying being part of the scene? What point is there doing something you don’t enjoy and “going through the motions”?
If you don’t like reading the “bad news” (which wasn’t that bad, just a suggestion to all northern crews they are a bit more discreet online, merely so they can carry on having good parties) then you don’t have to read it if it makes you feel “worse”..

i like to see the scene carry on evolveing for the better. my crew aint doing so good at the min to be honest.
I sometimes wonder with some of your posts if i was a new comer to the scene and i read one would i want to investigate any further?? Sometimes i also wonder where the police get the time and recorces to do some of the said things they do (though we have seen a part of it in Norfolk).
its their own personal decision. I don’t “bury bad news”, this is what govt spin doctors do, and I wouldn’t feel morally right about encouraging someone to take a risk without pointing out the potential consequences.
To me its no different if someone wanted to go on a cycling tour and told them exactly where there were dodgy roundabouts and dangerous traffic, but at the same time suggested alternative routes and that some regions roads are safer than others.
It wouldn’t put most people off cycling if they were determined enough. Or they could start off on the town route on the cycle path if they were initially worried (i.e like a licensed event)
the money is coming from the anti social behaviour budget which was set up in 2002 to combat the binge drinkers etc and from the anti-terrorism/major contingencies budget (all this info is on the Police authority websites). Also Suffolk and Cambs assist Norfolk when required due to their “mutual aid” arrangements.
CCTV has actually been fairly successful in stopping major trouble in towns before they get out of hand so it means that by the time pubs and clubs are shut, there are loads of spare coppers in this region. They also track vehicles due to the traffic cameras, there are a limited amount of main roads in East Anglia.
The actual strategy for Norfolk (which has been mentioned in the local media) is to get people back to licensed venues as at least it decreases some of the drugs use (as you have to dodge CCTV / bouncers / sometimes even sniffer dogs), or to encourage TENS events so at least party people have got permission and are accountable for the clear up.
it was a bit worse than that, surely??
you have to make sure you are not confrontational with the police, cos you’ll never win that battle.
the only issue with kluska advertising on here is that some people who go on this forum may turn up and act like pricks- there is less control over who attends your party. last time they did a party it was advertised on here, the police knew about it, and it went off fine

true, but its more complicated than that, not all “Norfolk” crews are like that with the cops, and the cops knew this.
The actual amount of “riot” situations was actually no worse than SE England or Manchester (which has had similar scenes) or Bristol or London.
Loads of parties in Norfolk went off without any sort of “riot”. In many cases the cops didn’t even approach the venues.
cops even went through a stage of letting some events carry on and stopping only the ones where people picked stupid venues, but then people got complacent with regard to rubbish and damage to the surroundings.
Also local people complained the Police weren’t doing enough.
It was this what brought it on top way more than any “riots”. things had actually calmed down before the most recent zero tolerance efforts kicked in.
