MY REASONING IS THAT OF COURSE, FREE PARTYS AND THE RAVE SCENE IN GENRAL ARE OF COURSE FREE FOR ANY ONE OF TO ATTEND.
THOUGH THERE SEEMS TO BE THOSE WHO DO NOT LIKE THE SCENE AND WISH TO STOP IT, CONTROL IT WATER IT DOWN, OR JUST INSINSERLY MAKE MONEY FROM IT.
FOR INSTANCE, LOOK HOW THE HARDCORE SCENE GOT IMPREGNATED BY UNSiNSERE SELL OUT PROMOTERS AND PRODUSERS, WHO PRODUCED A LOAD OF CHEASIE CRAP MUSIC AND CHARGED RIDICULUSE PRICES TO GET IN. MEAN WHILE, THE D&B SCENE, SEEMED TO GET SO MOODY, IT IS HARD TO SEE HOW PEOPLE CAN GO TO HAVE A GOOD TIME!

JUST AS THE FASHISTS ATTEMPTED TO CLAMP DOWN ON PEOPLES WRIGHTS TO GATHER, PROTEST, HOLD OPIONIONATED OPIONS, TOOK CONTROL OF THE ARTS AND PERSERCUTED PEOPLE WHO THOUGHT FOR THEM SELFS, I FEAR THAT THERE ARE THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE THE STATE TO CONTROL ALL FESTIVALS AND ARTS!

IT LOOKS LIKE THE STATE GRIP OF WHAT WE ARE AND WHAT WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO IN THE NAME OF EXPRESSION, FREEDOM, AND ART ARE TAKING GRIP.
I THINK THAT OUR GOVERMENT, LIKE THAT OF WHEN THE NAZI INFLUENCED GERMANY, WOULD ONLY LIKE US TO GO TO STATE APPROVED EVENTS THAT THE COUNCILS HAVE CONTROL OF AND MAY RECIEVE FUNDING AND BE IMPORTRATED BY THE GOVERMENT.
IT WOULD COME TO NO SUPRISE TO ME THAT PLANE CLOSE POLICE MEN ATTEND RAVES IN AN ATTEMPT TO CARRY OUT SURVALANCE OF THOSE THEY SUSPECT OF MAKING TROUBLE, JUST AS THE FRENCH POLICE USED PLAIN CLOSED POLICE TO BREAK UP THE DEMONSTRATION FOR WORK AND EQUALITY IN FRANCE. I can see what you are getting at but TBH I think the problem is coming from a different angle.
There is (or was) commmercialisation; but when someoen who grew up on a council estate in Ilford or Bexleyheath is offered a few grand which can help them build a new studio and feed their family, why would they not take it?
In fact if you look back at the early 90s rave history you will find that because the hardcore scene refused to abandon its support of the free use of drugs the money men pulled out their backing and the scene went underground again.
There is a phenomenal amount of state control worldwide on unannounced gatherings and the music scene. But its no conspiracy; its made clear for all to see on the Governments own news sources! The justificiation given is usually “health and safety” or the catch all of “security”.
The wider problem is people who are so-called ravers who choose a path of life where they consider violence and “real crime” (i.e taking from innocent people) are OK, or who look up to “hard men”
When stuff happens like gangsters getting in with a rave crew to supply the drugs, people fighting at the parties or launching CS into a rivals event (its not just the cops who use this stuff!) or youths who should be the new generation of crews are choosing to turn parties into battle grounds its hardly surprising the nanny state decides we are all behaving like stupid children and steps in.
I do think in part this is because of wider societys worshipping of materialism, the market and the media coupled with kids thinking “if Tony Blair and Dubya can take stuff by force in other lands, why can’t we defend our “ends?””
But at the same time if people don’t make the positive life choices that is big threat to parties, but nothing to do with “infiltration” or “conspiracies”.
The people of today are not merely sheep – they do have minds of their own and its up to them to use those minds in a positive manner.
As for your computer being “attacked” whilst using party or activist forums – if you express strong opinions others who disagree may try and silence you by hacking but its far more likely to be random angry individuals (there are a lot of intelligent but dysfunctional people about) than some kind of organised state control (after all the govt can use the terrorism laws and ASBOs for that).
are you using effective anti-virus and firewall software? Do you have friends who can help you check your computer for these things? There are lots of worms/viruses about and its not impossible that someone would pose as a campaign group to put bugs on opponents computers.
Remember also that particularly if you are a bit spangled after a party or on a comedown its easy to think mundane communications problems (such as service outages caused by BT’s maintenance of cable and poles which happens around this time of the year) are “hackers” or “conspiracies”…

I dont see how people who choose to steel or use violence can consider them selfs genuine Ravers.
What has these isolated occurences, which have certanly not occured at any partys that I have been to, got to do with the Rave scene anyway?

Most ravers are OK but a small minority latch on to this scene and cause major problems.
Look at it this way; ravers are a minority group – in total (including all the clubbers) there are about as many as there are Asian people in this country (about 1.5-2 million out of a country of 61 million)
There are only a small handful of British Asians involved in political extremism, Yet in the wake of recent terrorist attacks the entire Asian community (even those who are not Muslim!) are subjected to increased surveillance and scrutiny; not just from cops/authorities but from their own neighbours….
they are not, but they are turning up at raves and causing problems.
it depends where you go partying. I expect you are lucky enough to live outside a big city and have a good group of trusted party friends who do positive things with their lives
but inner city events are a different ball game. The violence at them is increasing – commercial events always had a gang element and now it is moving into the scene particularly in London.
Its a problem from wider society that is affecting the rave scene rather than caused by it; but its a problem that is having an adverse impact. People are getting angrier because of the other pressures in society; and unfortunately some of that anger is coming through to parties.

I just thought it was worth pointing out as I have experianced the Partyvibe forum go down at times, after I have submitted posts.
Also when I have been Networking to find out about events, Pages have frozen, and I have been unable to gain control over my computor.
Maybe I am just Paranoid, but it just seems to much of a couwinsidernce that this should hapen on sevral occasions when using this or other sites to enquire about future events and or, finding out about events which have been handeld in an unfair manner by the police using force.
It has seemed at times that the forces that be have tryed to stop us from Networking, and I just wished to enquire if any one else has experianced similar issues.
On the contorarie, I use Bitdefnder, AVG & Zone Alarm for secerity, as well a built in firewall on me modem, but I am admitedly no Computor Gueniues.
At the end of the day yes, people that ent ravers or organisers cum on here in read up bout partys. I mean cum on people the feds really ent dumb now are they?? You can pretty much find anything on the net these days and it ent even that hard! They no where to look and yes there probably readin this post right now! There was a documentary on TV bout raves not long ago and they said that ravers are using the internet to organise partys so they can do there research without the need to leave the station!
Anyway, anybody can google “free party” and guess which site is the first to cum up??? yep this 1!

A lot of this is due to other reasons (often because computer operating systems are flakey if not checked and maintained regularly!)
The cops don’t need to do cloak and dagger operations on the internet (which are more complicated than many realise) when they have the power to send in the riot squad to deal with things. And why would they censor some peoples’ access but not others?
sites do become inaccessible due to heavy traffic (particularly if everyone wants to find out info at once! ; and in some cases your own ISP is simply not able to cope with a lot of people using the internet at once! They have to buy connections from BT and these aren’t cheap so some ISPs have less capacity than others.
The techies on PV put a lot of effort into making sure the servers work well and can handle the data traffic going through them, but they can’t fix the entire Internet….
also ISP and telecoms companies often need to do various maintenance tasks which involve switching off bits of equipment to data traffic. This is done at odd hours of the night when most people are in bed but ravers tend to be awake 😉
when you are anxious and eager to get info, particularly over a sensitive subject you get more stressed and worried by a malfunctioning computer than you would normally and its easy to attribute this to “dark forces” rather than more mundane reasons.
