Yeah man this is gonna be the first summer where i dont have to worry about going back to education, and the first summer where i have properly benn into the scene!

I do enjoy the squat/warehouse parties but they never have the same vibe. In the summer seems to be so much friendlier, better atmosphere n everyone coming together and having an awesome time which is what its all about 4 me. Hardly ever any trouble, comedowns don’t feel as bad coz ure not freezing ure tits off, and if they last a few days pitch up a tent. Think im gonna sell my car this summer and buy a van to kit out with matresses n stuff so shld be good!

But crews are gonna have to be smarter than ever before about where they party and how they go about doing it…. There’s been 17 years of fun (LOL thats as old as some of the new crowd on here) but that also means 17 years of opposition and anger from locals and cops brewing up.

Its no good having a massive party if it ends up in people having their heads cracked and rigs taken – when it all sinks in on the comedown that sort of knockback even often ends friendships and increases crew politics through all the stress and anger…. (people end up blaming one another as much as the feds)

But despite all these new laws raves still aren’t actually claseed as major crime until they piss off enough of the locals or cause sufficient disruption for the for the cops to take action..

choose your venues (and your crowds) well, have a little bit of respect for those not involved in the party such as locals or workers in nearby units and you can still get away with it….

Aye… And if someone (like the landowner etc) comes and asks you to stop – just do it. Find another venue if you still want to party, and send everyone to it.:wink:

And if the nick come to the party, have someone go to them, and ask if they want it turned down, or do they want it finished. It’s amazing how much friendlier they will be if you are polite to them, and they can see there will be no problem if they do have to shut it down (usually the answer I get is that they are just checking out what’s going on, and they’re happy for it to carry on. If a local has complained, they usually ask for it to be turned down a bit. Only time they have asked it to end was a flat party in edinburgh, where we’d been going full tilt all night, and it was coming up to midday….:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl) And let them know you’re going to make sure it gets cleaned up afterwards, and that you will try and see no-one drives under the influence. Remember, it’s not a crime until you’ve been asked to stop, and haven’t done so (being shirty with them will most likely make them start looking for something to nick you for though, so don’t do it, even if they are rude buggers. Just nod politely, and say yes officer…:wink:). Lets try and make it a year where loads of parties happen, and all rigs are still intact at the end….:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl

Top notes you senior peeps.

Gotta larf at the age of rave, and the age of ravers. My first party on the Cholsey downs was in 1991 – still going strong up and down the ridgeway still (A34 last weekend just proves it).

However, as a man who even used to talk to the OB at pther peoples parties, I can’t stress enough what has been said. TALK TO THE AUTHORITIES when they turn up. You’d be amazed how many times it puts them on the back foot, and gives them a whole load of respect for you. And if you agree anything with them – stick to it. Then they beleive you, and will the next time too.

And yeah…look after your punters, and help them to understand why and how parties get stopped and rigs get taken. If it means three or four months building a new crowd with new telephone numbers, it will be worth it later when the nobs don’t come and the party carries on.

Good luck, Rave on, and rumour has it I might be out a bit more this year.

So, if anyone has any new partyline numbers, please PM me. Berks/Ox/Bucks/Brizzle/London style.
