Illegal weekend ravers moved on
People living near the site of an illegal weekend rave have complained that police were slow to act when hundreds of revellers arrived.
Officers moved in on Monday to break up the rave on a former RAF base in King’s Cliffe, near Oundle, Northamptonshire, which began on Saturday night.
On Monday they were being told to go or face arrest and police have promised to continue regular patrols.
There was a rave on the same site in November last year.
We got back from this early Monday Morning as I had to take a friend home. I ‘nearly’ went back up to the party in the afternoon to sell some Nos balloons as I was far too stated to attempt to sell any over the weekend, but I thought I’d leave it and save them till next Bank Holiday. And it’s only a couple of weekends away…
Then I heard all this was going on. So, I made a right decision for once as I probably wouldn’t have been able to get back into the site anyway. :noway:
But, hey…it was a wicked party and I had loadsa fun. Well done. :horay:

you can see from the lack lustre reporting that the bbe were asked to report this by the police so they could get their doggy treats off head office. tick those boxes. be seen to be doing stuff while actually doing fuck all.
we had our system down at this party, what can i say it was fuking awsome, thanks everyone for coming and i rekon there was a lot more than the reported 200 – 600 people, :horay: seriosuly wiked site, and a big fuk off to the people who burnt out a car where we were set up. wasnt nice to wake up and see a fire engine. although cant wait to see a pic of the system infornt of a warehouse with black smoke pouring out and a fire engine there.:you_smart
the party got sectioned on monday afternoon and we all moved off,
wiked start to the summer:bounce_m:

thats gratitude for you.
you: “here, guys, have a free party on us!”
them ” cheers, have a terrible public image back!”
what arseholes.
we had some people burn down a grade2 listed building on one of our sites (it was deserted for ten years, and the fire was an accident but still.) did wonders for the stregth of our arguement in the community for our raves being a socially and culturally good thing. we always get branded with teh worst elements, never the best. fucking government controlled media.
wiked start to the summer:bounce_m:
well played, heres to many more :alcoholic hope you have better luck on the dickhead front in future, touch wood!
:toxic:
nice safe site, i’d say 1500 people at least, and every rig had a huge crowd 🙂
one of the best raves i’d been to for about 6 years and not one bad thing to say about it, bar i had to leave monday morning and it was 100 miles away, but worth every mile !”!
Just the facts ma’am.
I wonder if the BBC were handing over footage to the cops for evidence gathering, in return for “safe passage” to the rave (i.e not being pelted/abused etc?) Auntie like to have good timecode on their camera tapes of news footage so its potentially admissible evidence and defintiely useable for evidence purposes
we had trouble on the ridgeway with cars being burned but the cops actually investigated it and found it was just local chavs who would have done so anyway – they were not linked to the ravers at all….
most remote wooded areas in the UK are graveyards for stolen cars – and even down the road from me 14 fiestas were nicked and burned in one weekend.
worst part of it though its usually young drivers (often themselves ravers) and girls/women (sometimes with kids) who lose their cars this way.
I bet it was whinging nimbys who grassed the rave merely because of extra people in the area (can’t see how noise could have traveelled in the densest tree cover I have seen at a rave venue) yet they were happy to have weapons of mass destruction built in these woods which would have made them an attack target for decades..
nah the timecode thing is to prove that it actually happened when it did.
Its a must for ANY newsroom to avoid costly legal bills.
I suspect the police will have been protecting the bbc as a pr exercise.
there was a report on bbc look east about it
