It proved impossible for them to track down the individual who had thrown the stone which hit the policeman, but their investigations led to the prosecution of six men who helped arrange the event.
o.gifstart_quote_rb.gif Anyone who comes to rural Wales to do this kind of thing will be dealt with harshly end_quote_rb.gif

“The police knew about internet sites which are used by the ravers,” said Detective Constable Maldwyn Roberts, one of a team of investigating officers.
“We used pictures they had posted on one of the sites after the event, video footage from the police helicopter, and evidence we had collected when we stopped people as they left the site to bring a prosecution,” Dc Roberts added. The police say the successful court case – using legislation which has been little used by North Wales Police in the past – gives out a clear message.

Although the guy that threw the stone wasnt caught it was due to the web photos that the organisers were punished, which i think is total bollocks. Why should the people who organise it have to be prosecuted due to the actions of one lone individual.

agreed and it happened because everyone (cops and ravers alike) had individuals there who wanted to be stubborn and to play “whos the hard man”

the cops were outnumbered so instead of getting proper CJA paperwork and/or waiting for the rave to disperse two cops disconnected a generator and threw it off a cliff when people started running towards them to retrieve it by force

so one lad thought he’d throw stones in reprisal and a cop got hit in the eye; and although I don’t agree with the cops’ tactics I don’t think its acceptable for the violence to go that far – and due to our culture of not grassing it was bound to come back on the rig crews (some of which are friends of mine)

remember they weren’t being busted for attacking a cop, they were being busted for holding an illegal party. this can happen at any time even if the cops are really sound and let you carry on.. (this is what elraveon means by “being given enough rope to hang yourselves”)

a mate got hauled out of one rave and hauled over to Wales for that court case; they got their equipment back in reasonable condition (this surprised me, I would have thought the cops would have done snide shit like cut the leads up and put screwdrivers though all the cones like they used to do especially as one of their lot was disabled) but have to pay a fair bit out of their wages for the fines , all their full names went in the papers and its not the easiest thing to explain to your employers and family..

Yeh good thing they got the rig back though. Harsh of the police to throw a genny off the cliff though someone could have been hurt through doing something as stupid as that. I guess you just cant stop some people acting like violent/destructive idiots ” even the police.

I heard someones car got torched at the bankholiday party, dont remeber seeing anything like that but i left sunday afternoon, so probably happened after then.

    unfortunatly so:get_you:

lots of blokes like to fight.

think of a gang where although there might be some silly clothes and some rules and paperwork and the initiation ceremony is boring, you get a big stick for hitting people with, CS gas, fast cars, and a bling mobile that when you press a special orange button on it all your mates come up as fast as they can to join in and back you up.

why do you think a lot of lads join up?

Yeh i see wat you mean, m8 of mine got pulled for possesion with intent to supply, but after having his stash of 13 eights conviscated, this made it to the station with a couple of eights missing. needless to say he didnt mention anything, the less he was pulled with the better i suppose. Even though it was only a couple of eights missing still shows a severe abuse of authority. These days who can you trust!

I can honestly say i don’t trust the police but hey thats my personal experience and opinion.

I bet it was whinging nimbys who grassed the rave merely because of extra people in the area (can’t see how noise could have traveelled in the densest tree cover I have seen at a rave venue) yet they were happy to have weapons of mass destruction built in these woods which would have made them an attack target for decades..

[EVIL][/EVIL]Yeah I agree I meen what sad old bastards with nothing better to do! I didn’t really pay much attention to the houses on the way there but im sure we where really far away from any resedential areas! Why complain! I meen I understand that the police have to watch us to some degree to make sure everyones safe etc, which is fair enough. But the helicopter for fuck sake! How much does that cost us and moany old bastards in tax? Ridiculous! Although we did come to the conclusion that the police where probabably having a whale of a time driving a helicoper (how fun would that be) bet they dont get to get it out that often! [EVIL][/EVIL]

Didn’t realise a car got burnt out though, what day did that happen?
