  • Not been about for a while, due to a combination of getting a new pc and some problems with the browser i was using.
Happily all is now tickety boo,new pc and new browser….plus it’ll soon be summer, what more could you ask? 😀

Welcome back and glad you’ve not given up on us. I was starting to think you didn’t care anymore 🙂

    Cheers 🙂
was sooooooooooo frustrating not being able to get online for a bit.
I had to reformat my hardrive,on the old pc,and thats when the problems with the browser started…eventually it was easier just to get both a new pc and ditch the M$ browser for the fabulous Mozilla.

    Welcome back 🙂

I’ve been using firebird for a few months now and would never go back to IE.

    What’s firebird?

Mozilla Firebird…..theres a new version now so its called Firefox these days.
Its a really good browser, has a built in popup stopper…it has a search bar where you can specify the search engines you want…its a million times better than IE,faster too,as you can surf with tabs as opposed to having several pages open.
Also, and this is a really big issue for me…you can download extensions for Firefox,to make it the browser you want it to be.Theres over 150 extensions available for Firefox,if you do a lot of web design then theres extensions to make that easier,if you download lots of files then theres extensions for that ,and a whole lot more, essentially you can customise Firefox to your personal use.
This extends into the UI to some extent too…if you dont use the cut and paste buttons for example, then you can remove them
The only possible drawback to Firefox i can think of,is that it wont always display Microsoft pages properly…although this is because of M$ insisting on its own software being used, and is not a fault in Firefox. For instance..i have a Hotmail account, and Firefox doesnt display the address book properly, the page is still useable but its a hassle…to counter this, theres an extension to view pages in IE,means having both browsers open to view the page properly tho.

    Mozilla Firebird

Firefox is a stand alone browser,Mozilla also do a stand alone mail client called Thunderbird, and a fully integreted browser.
