    General Lighting ,
This has happened to you to , only difference was the lass behind the counter asked me with a smile on her face as she knew i was older than 21/25 and then said dont worry about the ID . Just as well as im that old and look like knotted old wood i was about to chop my arm off and show her my age rings . However General think yourself your still young looking enough to be asked , i’d have loved it if the lass that asked me was serious 🙁 . Still looking like an old person does have its advantages , i didnt pay for the bus the other day , the driver thought i was a pensioner lol

The problem started when it went up to challenge 25. Most people who meet me normally think I’m over 18 but somewhere in my mid 20s. what annoys me is this is an extra restriction on a legal substance which has been introduced without debate and all complaints by supermarkets ignored as the government is right behind them. Its not a popular policy as its actually led to a lot of families where parents are my age but with teenage children being refused sales as the supermarket thinks the alcohol is being bought for the teens (which isn’t an offence if they drink at home and parents supervise them!), there are also claims its being used by some staff to get a bit of power and control over customers…

The supermarkets are even saying they are prepared to lose the business in a recession to enforce this law.

We already have CCTV, police officers and a lot of laws to deal with anyone of any age behaving badly under the influence of alcohol, and citizens have the right to report anti-social behaviour – surely this is enough?

it gets worse as the brand new real ale pub opening in town has been made to have a challenge 25 policy, its some distance out of town, not even the sort of area what would attract youths :you_crazy
