  • we can only talk about parties n foriegn shores

i’ve returned to the uk after a 10 year absence… the free party scene is predominantley english one… last “free party” I went to in France a good friend had his car high-jacked on his way there, there were guns, knives, and a lot of hardcore shit that suggested the organisers had nothing in mind except tell everyone that there would be rigs.

    lets keep it

    1) well orgainsed

    2) free

    3) fun

    4) creative

    5) da bomb

    6) outside the law

peace to all free party fun loving dance happy fire building underground crews everywhere and anywhere

    keep the vibe smooth

    Blimey. Thats a bit heavy!

Was that just a one off or is it a regular happening in France? I have no real experience of the French scene.

Heard that only 7 parties are allowed each year though. Any more than that and they come down HARD.

    blimey indeed.

that was exceptionally an poorly organised teknival, with some reports stating around 30,000 attending. local villages were trashed, the busies kind of gave up, just picking off those on their way out of the area. i went to a number of very feral parties, with lots of weapons and taxing abound.

Having said that, some old (sorry guys) spiral tribe live on the continent, and always managed to put on some blinding days long parties.

Personally I aim to keep my parties pretty intimate. The final one last year was attended by around 200 happy people.

    Bring on the bank holiday!

Sadly this is exactly the story I have read from France (in both English and French) and its patently obvious why the French scene got downsized to “7 permitted events” with a lot of surveillance from the authorities (this weekends FR teknival will have over 1000 cops on the perimiter doing random stop checks, according to the organisers themselves!)

We can learn a lesson from this in England. The scene here isn’t any way that bad but there are some issues with regard to safety and the problems with disruption to locals, sanitation and violence/crime. Either we address these issues or the Government will eventually do it for us, and perhaps not in the way we want.

    The choice is ours.
