i reckon there’s enough info out there in the public domain – website, myspace etc that as long as people are only pointed in the direction of these things its safe enough?
you got to remember any “desk study” of free parties by the mandrills is going to be at least as thorough as anything you or I are going to do. if you really hunt around you can get some systems to send you details of parties without ever going to one of their shindigs (i’m on the mailing list for a few i’ve never been to)
