  • find them in somali cafes..just ask abdi, he will sort you out.

Asking for Abdi might be met with “which on?”, i knew this somali family near me and when i asked about they said “which one?” ……. it then came to light all the brothers (4-5 of them) were all called Abdi!! But all had different surnames (and no they weren’t from different fathers! which is the obvious question to ask) Anyway just thought i’d share that with you!

i know three asian brothers called Sajed, Majed and Wajed. i do not understand why you would want your children to have the same name (or pretty much the same name)

i know a greek dude called Micheal Micheal..figure that one out.

Guy i knew at school his name was Mazhar muharrum and he’s dad’s name was muharrum mazhar!! As for the asian guy’s with the rhyming names well it seems to an asian thing my parents did it to me and my bro’s. All our names end ….rul so they now all rhym….most annoying!

i must be getting mixed up with something else,it must be m-kat that i got ,whats the deal with m-kat is it illegal?

Just seen this post. A ‘friend’ of mine tried some Khat tincture a few years ago. It was relaxing & speedy at the same time, allegedly!

Hi All 1st post be gentle… Growing Khat @ the minute, its approx 2 years old. Yet to sample it but its v. hard to Germ, I’d given up and replanted the pots only for it to appear 6 months later! Anyways notes on plant:

    1) Hard to germinate
    2) V. poor root growth
    3) Fast grower when established!!
    4) It loves pruning.
    5) Can grow happily in UK window.

Anyways just thought i’d chime in my 2 pence. Is anyone out there growing Kratom?

    @ JackJonez;

    Welcome to PV!

thats basically natural weak mephedrone AFAIK.. might as well just do a bomb of meow 😛

I chewed it in Yemen every afternoon for about three weeks a few years back (there’s not much else to do when its 45 degrees outside). Can’t really say I felt anything except I would normally have fancied a snooze but didnt. Also the taste doesn’t make it any more attractive…

The Somalian shop at the bottom of my road sells it over the counter. The streets around my way are littered with the chewed twigs and leaf-wrappings from people who just hang around chewing it all day. I find it gives a clean, speedy high for a bit then I feel tired and just conk out. Overall, I’d say it’s worth trying. And if you don’t want to chew on a minging bunch of leaves to get high it works just as well if you put a load in a teapot and brew it up. Khat tea doesn’t taste too bad either.

All cathotines are derived from the kat plant – that’s why they called cathotines afaik.

there don’t seem to be many Somalians in Ipswich – nor any khat – this suprises me as there were loads in Reading which is why i used to talk to my cat in a comedy African accent each morning, before our meowing session…

wernt they trying to make this illegal too?

I studied in tooting years back and it was sold in every other shop, although I didnt try it – it certainly seemed to be popular with the locals
