If you dont hav to wait on yur child hand and foot then they shud b okay at a party shudnt they?

sorry but i was gonna leave it there but looking at your age your forgiven ..an you dont have kids right ????

    your kiddin right ?>????????:weee: :you_crazy :crazy_dru

    lol!
No i dunt hav kids!! u gotta b jokin!
I do hav 3 young nephews hu hav been to a couple partys, nuthin special tho!

My mum took me to parties from the age of 6 until i was 13. now i go with friends….well actualy she did go when she was pregnant with me…

i used to sleep in the car all night and i loved it in the morning. I used to get so much attention from all these friendly ravers. I got given free sweets and drinks and food and i got to play in the forrests or where ever we were.

i thik taking kids to a party is a great idea. it did me more good than harm.

Well thats good…im glad you feel that way …but personally i couldnt go out myself to a Rave even party with my little one ..it would just tax my head i couldn’t rest i would’nt be able to take my eyes off her….there are so many weirdos or peodos out there this day and age you have to be careful who you let your kids talk to ….sad but true ..ok if kids are supervised or theres organised camping, but ..parties through the whole nite ….ie raves.i think kids should be in bed asleep…an sleeping in the car..is ok if one of your family an adult is there but not on your own surely, anyone could break in …..its my opinion i dont like to see kids at parties…it upsets me …

….but is it? Are there really any more weirdo’s and paedo’s out there than in the past? And are they really likely to be found hanging out at raves in the middle of no where lurking round looking for kiddies to abuse who’ve been left alone in cars?

Thing is most child abuse comes from within the family or people the child knows in a position of trust (like priests).

Personally I’d be more worried leaving my kid alone with the local vicar lol

Sorry, poor taste and stretching the point, but I do really think the belief there are more weirdo’s around now than ever before is a media creation and makes us wrap kids up in cotton wool a bit too much imo.

Not saying I’d necessarily take my kids (if I had any) to parties – doubt our lass would let me for a start lol – but the right party I personally dont see that big a problem and I know plenty of people who do, or did as kids and the experience seems to be positive on the whole.

to be honest i think it is a place where they will go certainly..just goes to show you think they would be around that kind of place..hmmm interesting …

sorry rewind ..you think* they wouldnt be around in that kind of envirement that its all indoors behind the curtains that this happens ..yeah some of it is …but we arent on about that ………………..
i think they would certainly could be at some of these places where they know kids are…

At festivals they have resignated areas for children wHere they are safe from harm not just from being abducted,,,,the people who run these workshops ,creches are police checked …why is that you think ..?

yeah kai the right party….not a rave …
an with due respect you dont have kids so its a different view you take ….when you have kids i think you may feel different …

The sad thing is that they dont always catch everyone even when they do police checks,

I can see why people stand on both sides of the arguement, I think its down to the parents at the end of the day. People are always going to have different beliefs in how you should bring your children up.

I personally think that if you are going to ensure you child is safe and not put at any risk then go for it, if you cannot be certain that you will be able to say sober and look after them, if you cant you should find someone who can take your little ones in for the weekend.

What i would be mostly concerned with is some muntered person doing something stupid as they thought it was funny.

    :group_hug

In the end its your choice, do what you feel is right at the time. you may change your mind about it next time…..

people have CRB checks at proper festies to look after kids, cause you won’t get insured otherwise. as simple as that.

also, CRB checks have become a standard. this doesn’t get rid of pedos though.

i don’t think there is a greater danger now than there has ever been – tell that to Barnardo’s who have a terrible record on child abuse in their children’s homes (one of the reasons they no longer do them). Barnardo’s has cleaned up tremendously now, I hasten to add. and all the scandals from catholic churches across ireland & the UK.

if you are going to take your kid to a party you aren’t going to just walk off & leave them with someone you don’t know. mainly because of muntered idiots (that will be me on sat, child free tho 😉 ) doing stupid things, and generally being scary & weird.

“kids” is a big age range too. IMO it goes up to 16 at least, and you’re going to treat different ages differently.

part of the reason i wasn’t up for my son going to parties, was cause i wasn’t sure about him knowing about drugs at a young age. now i think that is probably a little hypocritical

erm disagree thats exactly what it is enforced for ….nothing to do with insurance some people sincerely care about the children!
    simple AS…………..
Call me a hypercrit i dunno care …i dont want my kids to smoke pot .take drugs ok …that dont make me no idiot..ive done it been there …i just want them to be healthy an use exercise an outdoor stuff to feel a rush from …..raaa nite nite …x

quotes lemonzorba ...sorry ..red .red.wine…goes to my head …hehee hiccupraaa

i’m not calling you a hypocrite april :group_hug we all have to make decisions about our own children, and we all find our own path through it.

the point i think i’m making is that CRB checks are supposed to catch those that are on the sex offenders list (& other crimes, depending upon the level of check you do). they don’t always do this successfully, and they certainly don’t pick up those people that have never been convicted (or cautioned)

stating this doesn’t mean that people who have CRB checks don’t care about kids :hopeless: but IT IS a fact to say that without CRB checks you CANNOT get insured for this kind of stuff. I’m talking from knowledge, and not what i’ve heard the bloke down the pub say.

protecting children seeing people smoke etc doesn’t prevent people from doing that in later life – i know a lot of big party people who deep down are still rebelling from really straight parents (and others that have had hippy parents, you can’t really predict it)
