solvent use was very common in my teens, before the first raves introduced a more widespread recreational drugs culture to this country. Quite a few people in the 80s died that way and it can cause chronic (i.e long term) damage to the internal organs.
It is a dangerous and unhealthy practice indeed; what I was getting at is that the presumably young American poster has essentially been driven to considering trying this due to a lack of anything better and its prohibition making him consider risking his life by taking solvents more than any other factor.
fairplay,i just didn’t want somone else going down that road.my alternative option could of been a bit better thought out though.
I did a fair bit of gas when I was young and stupid. Now that I’m old and stupid I realise that it was… well… stupid.
In answer to your question, you get high instantly from gas and it lasts a few seconds. The high certainly isn’t worth the risk involved. My advice is to stay well away.
I think the “gas” the original poster is referring to may actually be petrol (gasoline) rather than butane gas.
In this case the hazards are long-term health damage; and from fire/explosion as the heavy vapours can travel a surprisingly long distance to a distant source of ignition…; when people get high on these sorts of substances they often get careless about fire safety…
Nasty :hopeless:
well that is a very generous offer, its nice to see such public- spirited behavior.
rofl at my own joke…
on a serious note, whiel i have doen most recreational drugs at one time or other, ive never huffed solvents of any type, and i am well glad. was always the one thing that was definitely far too dangerous to be worth it.
as meltown said, if you want to huff something, get some laughing gas, its legal and cheap and (relatively) safe.
i was aware of the dangers before i tried it. i was trying to huff gasoline. and i swear i breathed it through my nose and mouth for like 5 minutes. or more. i got nothing at all. and now i figure, mneh, if the high is only a couple seconds and its so dangerous. theres really no point. so i wont be doing any more of that.
I’m glad  Its not worth it

You can get in serious shit just for a small amount of weed (not so much prison but losing stuff like your college grant, driving license and any entitlement to welfare benefits).
There was a recent scandal that a lot of hurricane victims were refused aid because they had been busted for small amounts of drugs years ago and were classed as being a criminal
but of course industrial solvents are easier to get hold in small quantities (the only restrictions on them being obvious ones to do with health and safety issues)
The reality of the war against drugs; people often end up going for more unhealthy options…
yeah…once huffing makes you mentally ‘DEERRRGGHH!!!” (retawrdeded) you wont have to worry about college grants, LOL.
you have a long life ahead of you
potentially
Has anyone purchased a nitrous oxide ‘kit’ from a reputable online seller?
ie; dispenser, chargers and balloons. If so, what was your experience and post any harm reduction techniques.
