  • I’m trying to organise a good night for some of my friends next weekend (saturday) in London.

I want to find somewhere with a good friendly atmosphere, I got sick of going to real mainstream obnoxious clubs and i don’t want to aren’t any good house parties and no ones told me about any free parties (and i’m obviously not going to ask on a public forum)…

…I’m not part of this scene at all, I just have an interest in it so I want to ask,

Objectively speaking, would going to Nu Dawn or Serious Business be more fun? Would both be more fun then just going to the End and AKA which is what I would probably be doing otherwise. Are there any legal events in London on April 12 that would be more fun or that anyone would recommend alternatively.

Sorry for the newbie question but I don’t really have any way to evaluate where I should go otherwise so I’m asking for people who know something to give their expert opinions.

check our events section. A fair few of the london promoters who have roots in the original free party crews post here.

actually come to think of it..

    might be worth a try..

I did look at the events section, but they’re events being promoted by people who are making money off of them, so I wanted independent reviews…

Do you think Serious Business would be better than Nu Dawn? Nu Dawn has (it seems) a much nicer venue, so I was thinking of going to that:

both events are advertised as playing old skool and I don’t know anything about the DJs so I can’t objectively distinguish between them…

new dawn has got the top old school dj’s in the contry there by the looks of it … i would certainly go if i lived in se london and had a bit of cash … if you go make sure not to miss rat packs set 😉 serious business will more likly be techno for the majority of the night …

I recommend Serious Business, but I’m a little biased. 😉

It’ll be techno with a sprinking of acid for the second half of the night with old skool and probably a smidgin of breaks beforehand. If that’s any help.

Hope to see you there, come and say hello.

basicaly .. if you like techno more than old skool .. go to serious …. if you like old skool more .. go to the other one … me thinks its monday now .. mby a bit l8 .. but hey ..better late than never eh ? ..eh eh??
    :bounce_fl

But I love both!!!! (and was actually in London all weekend.)

I’m actually trying to work on a 3 deck old skool and acid techno set- basically mixing old skool like normal, then adding the techno at slower speed to beef up the bass. Trouble is, my techno is very thin on the ground, may have to borrow a mates.

It may never happen, but could be wicked if I get it right!!!

Hope the weekend was good either way!
