i have a similar problem although in the last couple of years ive found some like minded souls through meetup.com. however on sunday i ended up in a club on my own. basically id arranged to meet my mate at a nearby pub, rung him when i got there and he told me he had texted saying he couldnt make it. my partner was also coming along but wouldnt be around until later on in the evening. offcourse i rang her to get her to come sooner but she didnt show until 3 hours later!
anyway a little about my experience. i entered the club just after 9(wouldnt normally go that early but it was closing at 230) predictably the main room wasnt that busy but the upstairs bar was. i settled down to a beer while browsing the net on my phone, then had a couple more beers while checking out the main room again. started warming up around 10 so had a couple of glasses of wine before dropping my mdma. had a few people come up and chat, mainly youngsters and then around 1045 i started to come up. by then i was in my own little world and not really arsed about being self concious or anything. partner eventually turned up around midnight but by that stage i was pretty gone. id say i had too much to drink and its not good to mix it with the mdma as it makes you a mess and feels kind of dirty but i guess i drank so much to relax initially.
it was an experience and one i would probably only repeat on my own if it was a particular dj i wanted to see only this time id make sure it was an all nighter and go in the club later and just stick to mdma as opposed to drinking. the only problem would be the self conciousness for 45 minutes or so waiting to come up.
