from what I was reading the bulk of the nature reserve though is the other side from the former munitions store, the rigs (and vehicles) would have been inside the RAF bit as it would obviously have approach roads intended to get materials in?
IME the really important habitats for rare creatures are actually fenced off and are not easy to get into (bear in mind local chavs present more of a threat to these habitats than occasional ravers) so provided the ravers did not deliberately breach these fences.
last year there was a rave in Avebury where there is a nature reserve, but everyone actually respected this area and put the rigs away from the nature reserve.
The RAF base would have been designed as a place where you could make a lot of noise for metalwork, heavy machinery without causing too much alarm to anybody or anything, its even possible that the RAF in the post WW-II atmosphere of paranoia may created some of the nature reserve – its a good cover up for the missile factory, and they an absence of creatures around it would potentially have alerted Soviet spies (after all the environmental movement right up to the 80s was alleged to be full of them) :alien_abd
No fair play, if that was the case then fine, but i know skan have done raves in stupid places before. wouldnt have surprised me if they had done it again!
