IDK if blocked for life is the best way to put it, but I guessss it is possible for the receptors to have stopped working as they should and are ‘impaired’ for life. Like they give 10% of the response the should. I hope you get your liver situation sorted though. Best of luck, and a speedy recovery.
thank you man. i dont even get a 10% response to opiates, literally nothing.
i decided to go to my local chemist a short while ago and speak with the pharmacist. he confirmed again that it is impossible to block forever and eventually it will subside.
so i gotta wait it out, i still blame my liver
well today was interesting, i met a new doctor. he agreed that the naltrexone issue is liver related, as i thought, but as i explained why i took it in the first place etc he stopped me in my tracks
he is adamant that the SSRI component of tramadol had caused my original issue because he said opioid receptors dont stay down-regulated, however Serotonin receptors have autoreceptors which get ‘stuck’ (cant up-regulate) causing all kinds of issues, for example some men are left almost permanently sexually dysfunctional. he said thats the reason alcohol stopped working, 7 months of a pure opiate would not cause this effect, it would of improved he believes.
im assuming i’d need to get my hands on a serotonin receptor antagonist. anyways just thought id let you guys know that maybe i was wrong all along and it was a potentially completely different receptor! wow
Why do you think you need an antagonist? Could that make the situation worse?
if the receptor is stuck downregulated/desensitized an antagonist would help, ive been speaking to a guy on another forum about it, his knowledge is impressive. hes helped others with PSSD (sexual dysfunction) with antagonists, theyve had great success
I think I follow along, an antagonist might get them to upregulate again.
Of course, I wonder what the standard protocol is, like how long/much to take the antagonist and then how to gauge success. Glad you found an answer to your problem.
2-3 months to be sure, should feel a difference in a few weeks. not sure of dosage, its a drug called mianserin an anti-depressant that works slightly differently, with antagonism. although i am scared to take any anti depressant type drugs after reading horror stories

There is speculation that the uopiod receptors, after massive and prolongued opiate use could make them fire less afficiently/as often, as a normal brain, but tta’s controversial at best….

that does sound plausible for people who abuse for years on end, i highly doubt it for regular users

I wasn’t suggesting that was the case, just something I know from the research. If you think a seratonin releaser will help, try MDMA cos the SSRIs, whther agonists or antagonists available today are shit…..

That would exacerbate the situation, because the serotonin receptors could become further down graded. Although the current plan to take an anti-depressant, even, if theoretically okay, worries me.

worries you? why? just asking

All antidepressants worry me dude.
Although it seems to be your only course of action at this point.
