To be fair if you are getting this stuff it does appear your doctor is very likely to be someone who knows what they are doing, is aware of your other issues with the liver and would also be regularly monitoring for side effects.
I am not a medical professional myself but my day job is to keep systems running that process healthcare data 24/7 very similar to the ones your own medical data is going to be processed with at the hospital (although I work for a more specialist facility that deals with the older age groups usually age 80-100+) – this means I have access to a lot of data about health conditions and various treatments.
As you are a younger patient it is possible you also might be part of an experiment at the local teaching hospital; but that isn’t a bad thing or anything to be scared of (its how healthcare around the world is improved).
