found this last night (I try to listen to a bit of Dutch every day).

My Dutch is still quite basic (perhaps I can understand 25% of the news video) but I worked out that this outdoor festival was stopped by cops because AIVD (the Dutch Security Service, similar to MI5/MI6 in UK) said it was a fascists gathering and that anti-fascists would also try to attend and disrupt it.

Certainly they appear to have nicked a bloke who is trying to dress like Hitler, and the woman from the council mentions something about the number 88 being used to symbolise “Heil Hitler”. And the lads all seem to have not got much hair on their heads either…

I guess this is one “party” I don’t mind cops shutting down, but I wonder if any native speakers know more about this?

For those who don’t understand Dutch, I might have a go at translating the rest of the article tomorrow, but it was exactly what I thought happened… I think the chap dressing as Hitler got himself mixed up with Charlie Chaplin though :laugh_at:

That guy really does look like what hittler should of looked like if he fitted in his own regime. O.o

I don’t speak nor understand dutch, but for sure if the cops had to disrupt one party, then these are the ones who should be permanently shut down!!!
