I found the same problem SunG, I live in Boro and there doesn’t seem to be a scene in the North East and I think the few parties that do take place are closely linked to venue based nights around Newcastle/Whitley Bay etc.
When I was looking at putting a party on last year, a look on Google Earth showed how everywhere round here seemed to have a farmhouse (complete with angry farmer+gun) within 500 yards.
Have you been to Thimbleberry Festival? its on twice a year up past Hamstlerley and has a fantastic freeparty feel to it.
