its been quiet because the feds and locals are steaming fucking angry about some problems caused by raves, in the last couple of years or so there has been a serious clampdown across East Anglia (similar things happened in many other parts of the country)
what was once seen as “fairly harmless mischief” is now being viewed as “major crime”, and has been linked in with everything from serious anti-social behaviour and drug addiction (including even tenuous links with the Ipswich prostitute murders!_
some small parties may happen but more and more stacks are being permanently confiscated – its got to the point where the cops destroy the sound kit and decor but keep stuff such as gensets to use for their mobile police stations and comms masts…
half the public here support the clampdowns too 😥
I’ve been raving for a fair few years and I’ve never seen a region get locked down like this that quickly. Here in Suffolk I have to travel 30-40 miles just to find a legal dance music event! I think it might be because East Anglians are stubborn and everyone fights their corner hard, both ravers and cops/locals..
At least in your area you have legal events in Norwich and Lowestoft you can get to easily..
BTW I don’t think you are a cop or journo, but with all the above details of what free parties remain are only being circulated amongst trusted friends. If you are more willing to contribute here and chat about stuff like music or life in general rather than just get info, (although its easy to make 5 posts pretending to be a raver its a bit harder to keep up the pretence….) eventually people will help you out 😉
