got a phone call yesterday ‘bring your system to a legal party..

no idea who the crew was (still dont) we went in with them in a city center venue. ohhhh it got pigged to fuck! nigh on lost equipment.

wasnt bloody leagal was it.

good party while it lasted though.

what happens to gear that is taken by the police? do they auction it off or can you get it back at some point? (no idea about this!)

The inspector said ‘get the equipment out or we’ll get it out & it will take you 6 months to get it back’. I wouldnt of took a rig into Manchester had I known it was unlicenced as in my opinion Manchester is as locked down as Norfolk.

When theres a risk of people getting hurt, equipment being lost and the old bill blatently arnt going to give any ground you shut down. Well thats what we do anyway.

TBH I think people what claim events are “licensed” when its bullshit are worse than the feds

at least the feds make it clear that what you are doing is illegal

if someone said to me “legal party” I’d ask to see the TENS license – if anything you’d need to know the site plan as the Council would have licensed it on conditions that the rigs were in certain areas (health and safety , preventing noise pollution etc)

They didnt say it wasnt licence they said they had permition from the owner of the building which I took to thinking it was licenced. So its my fault for not asking realy what the score was.
They were nice lads & keen for runnin partys but it wasnt run properly & i’m not going to go into the reasons why on an open forum. When the police arived it was delt with totaly wrong and 2-3 other reasons.

No equipment lost is a bonus but my playin the game helped that or stuff would of gone.

Dont think we’ll ever go into Manchester with a rig again unless its licenced or small & invite only.

Bang on Mr AHC….its your rig, you gotta have the control.

We done a multi rigga in a big ole warehouse near Park Royal back in 94. We had had a meet up before hand, and Bedlam’s top man had said, if they [OB] come in aggressive, I’m stopping. Lo and behold, in they came, so all rigs switched off and we began the negotiations. Some cunts started trying to whip up anti-polizie fever, chuckin cans an shit like that…It’s always the ones without the rigs who wanna fight.

Like its been said. Hold on to your rig, and get a rep for being easy to deal with the old bill – goes a lot further to have a good rep with them, than it does to have the support of a bunch of ravers who won’t bail you out or replace your rig for you.

Anyway, I’d hate for those rig bits I sold you to go back inside – they hated it the last two times it happened (coz in those days we used to get it back 4 or 5 days later!!)
