Can anybody tell me what happenened to the party on the south coast last night. Partyline went up and told us it was definatley happening on a site we had been to before. When we got down there fuck all. Was it pulled/ busted or did i get lost again?

did the partyline announcment contain a date?

there is always the risk (if this is not the case) of accidentally following old directions if the crew does not erase the message immediately afterwards…

i think it did. wouldn’t suprise me if i just wasn’t listening properly in my haste to rave. Just got back from one that did go off though. crackin time was had by all. completley made up for the one that was busted the second we arrived. (Never seen so many plain clothes plod) After risking our lives running across a dual carrige way with an industrial sized bottle of nos, the miserable buggers pull it. Wheres the harm. I mean really?

glad to hear you found a party…

hampshire, sussex and surrey and some of the worst force areas for clamping down on free parties; they were the first to use licensing laws and ASBOs against organisers…. friends of mine have encountered CID with rotweillers (instead of your normal rentaguards) waiting at potential venues…

are you saying that you ran across the road with the cylinder and the cops had then stopped the rave, or that they actually confiscated the cylinder of N20?

Yup was a real shame that the main party didnt happen. We got onto the site just to see 4 large rigs packing up and most people leaving. I had also been to the site before, but unfortunately the directions we had lead us on a wild goose chase first!!

I was joining you running over that dual carriage way with your cylinder – bet the treck across those fields and fences was even more of a task for you 😉

3 parties then split off from the main big one that didnt happen. One was close to the original site behind a pub (owner didnt mind), quite a few people turned up but it wasnt really happening too much (music not really to my taste either) so after an hour or so we moved up to a apparently better party in Hoo. Music was very similar and also same amount of people. We were then told a large psy trance rig was set up near tun wells + another alternative + chillout came in the morning. This was apparently the best party of them all according to friends who fancied a 4th site but still got busted around 11am.

Disappointing really, but thats the way it sometimes goes!

Big thanks to Dave Toot for his driving effort (especially going out your way to put me to a closer station)

Maybe the bank holiday weekend will have more luck! :bounce_fl

Anyone else have the same fun trecking up and down Kent?

No we were carefull enough to stash the bottle before getting too close to the site it really was too large to be sly. Just got there and coppers all over the show. About a hundred people there (mostly kids) trying to get clever with the law we saw it wasn’t happening and left.

The party near wells is the one we ended up at “Wonky disco” was pretty good we left about 9 when a farmer turned up on his tractor. Realised the police would soon arrive so we buggered off two of our group are only out of prison on license and didn’t really want to get into any hassle with the o.b plus we had a fair old trek home.

also did anyone have any dealings with the guy who claimed to be from “mixmag” doing a story on “illegal raves” ? BEWARE I THINK THIS GUY IS OLD BILL. wanted to take a lot of pictures and knew fuck all about any music. I was testing him with made up names of acts and he was telling me he “preffered their earlier stuff. He was at the first party in kent that got busted and then turned up in the woods at about 8am. Will be checking mixmag over the next couple of months to see if there is actually going to be an article.

Apparently mixmag reporters have been taking interest the “resurgence in the rave scene” – but remember, cops can (and do) read mixmag too…there are at least a few ex-“ravers” in their late 20s upwards who have joined the Police – all it would take is burning out from too many drugs (but not getting caught) or even out of spite or a desire for revenge (for instance losing a partner to drugs)

could also have been an “investigative reporter” from local or other media.

YES, that was why the party was so easily shut down, all the people were still driving round trying to find it!

Cos everyone split off all the parties were smaller, but Im glad they went on anyway 🙂 S23 was ok once it got going, nice vibe, Not quite what we had all hoped for that night but was a very happy party anyway, and without fear of further trouble.

Just had a phone call from a mate telling me that the party did happen on friday but not at the site they posted directions for. Ah well, at least it was only in the next county and not the other end of England we drove to.

I think that might have been a different party altogether that some people went on to as a substitute when the site was busted.
