I was at a free party near Westbury on saturday night. It was the worst organised load of crap i’ve ever been to. They had 2 really loud soundsystems but both of them were playing hard-as-fuck industrial techno, and sounded like they had been put together by a bunch of spacecakes on k. The organisers were a bunch of spacecakes on k.

the soundsystems kept making a horrible noise every time some k head fucked someting up. they had made no effort at all to make the place look nice or be comforable. didn’t have any space heaters or anything. i still had an ok time cos i was off my twat on k as well but as soon as i came out of the k-hole i noticed how shit the music was again!

in the morning things got really dodgy. a couple of landrovers showed up with ‘RANGE WARDEN’ on them. at first i thought it was a right laugh and ran around taking pictures of these guys in yellow jackets. they told us we had to be out of there by 11 and everyone was like yeah whatever, ain’t going to happen. they backed off to the top of the track and i went to talk to them and give them some chocolate biscuits. they said they didn’t like chocolate but were quite friendly. they told me we had to get out of there cos it was army land and the marines were moving in to set up a base in those sheds at 11. 2 platoons of marines who were’nt going to be happy to find us there.

no-one was taking it seriously not even the people i was with. i kept going back and talking to the army guys until i was convinced they were telling the truth. the cops showed up and tried to talk to the organisers but they were still taking k and they couldn’t get any sense out of them.

our lot finally left at ten to 11. the rigs were still going, no one was showing any sign of packing up. i don’t know what happened to anyone, we haven’t been able to get hold of our mates who were still there.

was anyone there and knows what happened?

think a friend of mine might have gone to a party in that part of the world but not heard anything from him yet

normally though if it had gone totally pear shaped this would end up on the news, or someone on here or SJ would have said something about it..

TBH I reckon the range warden probably wasn’t lying, and they might have even called off the exercise on health and safety grounds…

the MOD are probably more embarrased than anything – its as much their fault for not securing the sheds in the first place; what if you hadn’t been ravers but some sort of terrorists?

didn’t like the TEKNO party? wot a shame.. i’m part of the smaller rig and i’d just like to clear a few things up:hopeless:
industrial tekno?we played hard trance,breaks,acid tekno,hardtek,hardstyle,acid trance,psytrance,d&b and tribal tekno…
all k heads?-i dont even take k or like it at party’s as i don’t find it socialable-rig popped a bit and complained because we were in an open barn and it was pissin down:crazy_diz
the army wasn’t a problem didn’t need to consort with police.. packed up cleaned up and left before 11…
happy days everyone,to those who did enjoy it this years going 2 be wicked roll on the spring…love and respect

WTF?
you put on a better party then. Alot of time and money go’s into these partys people plan for you! And most of the time they ARE free ,apart from occasionally pound for the sound, normally in wharehouses, fair enough i think!
If you didnt enjoy the party avoid futures partys run by the rig.

we would have brought our rig if we’d known there was space for it! first they said there was, then they said there wasn’t, and there was a whole other shed that wasn’t being used! and we would have brought a space heater and lots of decorations and all that.

what happened to the big rig? are they ok? they are all nice people and fair play it was free and the k was cheap and good.
i liked the group hug thing where we were worshipping the speakers. that was fucking immense

be fair my friend, i do not no of any marine business i left early sunday and from what you describe it wasnt the greatest exit by the organisers but on the soundsystem front i think the djs didnt just play techno i heard a lot of hardtrance and there was psy on the line up later on coming from the smaller rig to be fair the bigger rig was just blasting out techno (i was meant to play psy on the smaller set up but had to leave thanks to a friend not in the party mood) and the actual set ups wherent terrible, on a location front it was great please tell me if im wrong?

… it wasnt psytrance and im a hippy, well im glad you no what you are and like but to be fair unless you no the organisers and can spin a deck try and offer a bit of advice on the next party not start giving off insults to the people, am i wrong?

is it really called shit rig in the korner? couldnt make it out on the party line.if so, thats a quality name.

some psy went on at some point in the late morning which was good. i left maybe about lunch and the tunes had eventually been stoped by that funny poilceman with the tash.

after we went for a walk met a mad professor and then climbed to the top of salisbury plains after the party. was awesome. didnt see any marines though.

a good party, just missions from me.

glad to hear the marines didn’t really show up that could have been messy

shit rig in the corner yeah i’ve heard it called that too lol

it was a really good rig though pity the thingy kept doing that thing sorry i’m tired i can;t remembr the proper word. you know, making a horrible noise cos somethign goes wrong.

here’s some advice- get a space heater they are the best thing ever. ours is our favourite bit of gear after the rig of course. you can stand around worshipping a space heater too and it dries the mud on your boots.
