dont no if it will do much
if im honest … i dont think id like them ‘legalised’ …
am i on my own on that one?
I hope so! I want them legalised for sure! They were once legal. It means you don’t get paranoid if the music you’re playing has repetitive beats man.
am i on my own on that one?
nah i agree…. the scene would get less underground and become commercialised as people start to realise that they can legally make money out of it. this would also mean a load more wankers would go to raves…
the resistance movement (fight for your right to party) part of raves would be gone also.
So u just wanna be a rebel instead of just bein happy? If you don’t like cheesy commercial stuff you would be able to make your own raves innit :weee: It’s about your freedom here, what’s the point in fighting for your right to party if at the end of the day you don’t want a right to party.. i mean really…
it’s part of a wider things than that though innit? it’s not just “the right to party” but for me illegal raves show a kinda resistance to the clampdown on freedom we have seen for a while.
i don’t wanna be a rebel but the fact that it’s underground means only people who truly care about partying (well, mostly) actually put in the effort and show up.
if you legalised raves as long as they didn’t make a profit, but that wouldn’t work. it’s impractical. rig crews have gotta cover their expenses. and if you allowed people to make profits, bam… death of the underground rave.
don’t get me wrong mate, i’d love to see a more tolerant attitude – for example coppers leaving parties alone if they are relatively peaceful…. but all out legalisation would ruin it i reckon.
when i think of what i love doing on a saturday night i think of driving for hours looking for a field, barn or warehouse i think of the thrill and adrenaline coursing through my veins as we see and run into more cars all wanting to get there and as you get closer hearing the ”WOMP WOMP WOMP” … NO BOUNCERS … NO BAR … NO PLASTIC PEOPLE!
if you legalise it youll stick a bouncer at the front gate, an overpriced bar in and a fu*king closing time!
if you want that, sign the petition …
spot on DA raaa
Yeah but why go to a legal rave where you pay and the music is rubbish, when you can go to a legal rave where you don’t pay and the music is great. People will have their old choices back. And nobody gets teargassed or gets criminal records or gets their soundsystem confiscated.
you can legalise raving itself, but what about all the drugs involved with raves?
the coppers are hardly gonna go “drugs are illegal… oh wait, you’re at a rave! you shoulda said mate… hope they are good pills then” and walk off.
to legalise a true rave you need more than simply revoking the CJA act 1994….
… you dont think theyll charge entrance?
and when i mean they i mean the big labels and promotors dying to get in there to put THEIR DJS behind the decks which if you havent guessed it yourself will eradicate djs like me … the ones that live for the tunes not the money to play them …
absolute bulls*it my friend …
Yeah but the cops can’t do you for being on a pill, or at least, they won’t.
So they will just be out to get dealers.
There will be enough dealers in the suburbs selling smack and crack to bother the coppers with, and the cops don’t want people planning crime waves in cities to coincide with police attention being diverted to a rave.
The logistics of it mean that if the raves become legal again then the cops will have no pressing reason to break up a party, because the noise disruption and environmental concerns will have been sorted b4 a license is issued.
Would you be able to handle your equipment being confiscated? Everything you’ve worked for?
everything ive worked for and love may i add you are suggesting i turn into a ‘licence’ driven circus ….
Well if you don’t like it then yours will be an illegal rave.
Oh wait, that’s what you wanted to do anyway. So it’s a win-win situation.
to hold a legal event you need certain licences … do any barns, warehouses or fields near you have them? and i honestly dont think your local council are going to like handing out licences to venues which have no way of passing fire requirments along with all the other requirments needed to hold said legal party …
