wos wondering if any 1 else has had any rondom experiences like this???:you_crazy :you_crazy raaa

yep, in the 1990s me and my mates ended up in South London driving round industrial estates looking for this rave..

The met stopped us, checked our car out, then one of them went back to his patrol car, used his radio to call for details on where the rave actually was..

he smiled at us and said “you nearly got it but its the industrial estate next door, and gave us directions to it!

I suspect a lot of the cops would rather have a vehicle full of young people at the rave rather than driving round aimlessly in a strange area where they could get into worse trouble (such as being tempted to do other crime or fight with locals..)

suppose u do have a point there but u gota admit most ob are TOSSAS but u do get the od safe 1!!still cant realy belive it happend 2 this day random shit!!:you_crazy :hopeless: raaa :group_hug

IME if you are polite then they are too, most of the time

i’ve only seen cops be really badly out of order on about 4 occasions

ive never seen them get propper outa controle but ive been told the stories..maybe im just a peacefull pearson an hide wen things kik of??!!:group_hug raaa :bounce_fl

was at uprising in sheffield a few years back and came out to find my mate had a flat tire, we were all way too spannered to change it and we did’nt have a jack so my mate flagged down a copper, he happily got his jack out and fixed it while we sat in the car then he sent us on our way!

    so not all ob are all tossas then??this confuses me a bit? :laugh_at: :bounce_fl raaa :group_hug :you_crazy

I know, some will pull people over and search them for no apparent reason and other daft stuff. suppose it depends on the person and what mood there in.

i agree with u there happend 2 me plenty of times probably y im so shockd about the directions!!!:you_crazy :crazy_diz raaa :groucho:

One of my mates got pulled on the way to a party the other week! They fined him 30 pounds for his number plates and then directed him straight to the party!

I really dont have anything nice to say about any of them, they have never helped anyone i know, I will agree tho that we are blessed with nice(ish) coppers in this country, If anyone has ever seen a european rave busted they will know what i mean.

its worth being aware a fair number of younger people/ex-ravers get bored of drugs/partying and join the Police each year – so it wouldn’t be that odd for a copper to be at least understanding if not totally sympathetic to the concept of a rave.

a lot of that though is due to our British way of life and the remains of the “stiff upper lip” culture, where people try to be polite and civil even when they don’t agree with what someone is doing – also both citizens and cops are often still far more reluctant to use firearms to solve disputes than in other countries of the world and that makes a big difference to law enforcement in this country..

inever lookd at it that way but i do see your point.times av changed an i no 1 of my m8s is becomeing a copper an she used 2 munch trips galore wen we were younger shes a good m8 of mine so at least i wont have 2 wory about 1 of the fukas!:weee: :weee: :group_hug

of course, but there are times when they are forced to put aside their human side and act in a dogmatic or even paramilitary manner (such as “public order” (i.e riot) situations, and thats where the more angry ones can get out of hand..

OTOH these days I’ve heard more “right-on” stuff come from the mouths of cops (particularly senior cops) than local people :hopeless: – for instance when there are squatters or ravers the cops are often saying “we did not take action as there was no major trouble/disruption” – whilst the locals seem to want to go in with pitchforks and shotguns.

At the same rave where the Police car got smashed, I saw cops get ready to restrain someone working for the landowner as they thought he was gonna kick off at the ravers (I’m glad to say this didn’t happen and everything ended peacefully)..
