the saddest part of this is that many of the people involved with that 10 years ago have “grown up” and (a proportion of them) voted UK (and later to leave EU), even after attending Euro Teknivals an the like and moan about the “foreigners taking their jobs” (this tension was going on back then even to the point a parallel party scene developed amongst East Europeans rather than them joining in with all of us)
And the real reason these youths can’t get jobs (I hear this directly from local employers) is their poor attitudes to any sort of authority and concern they will simply act aggressively when challenged
Of course not all hedonistic youths are anything like that and the bulk of them are or were good people, but the backlash today is that young people who want to make something of their lives are are a lot more “straight living” than previously (some are genuinely shocked when I tell them what I did in 1990s) 😀
