  • Didn’t read all of that, but a few comments:

Wicked party. Shows how it should be done. Awesome systems, although I barely left the ‘main’ one all night. Wicked people, nice to meet loads of guys off here and sj.

Shit about the end, but, ateofd, there WAS a fire, so they took the action that they considered to be in our best interest.

Talked to one copper who said that there was loads of complaints, so the site wasen’t that well thought out.

As for access, there was another track that led directly to the party, which was the one the OB used to get in. We thought we were very clever moving the van there, until we were blocked from it for 3 hrs by the OB.

Stupid cowardly chavs who stand at the back and throw bottles (often hitting other ravers) and burnt out old hippies who like having a fight- the scene could very well do without.

Hope the rigs don’t get in too much shit for it.

This partys was bang on! I do lose my head at one point and thought the whole party was a plot against me!:you_crazy BUt got passed that.
Shame about the rigs but some of my mates went to a party organised by one of the rigs there the next night so some of them must have got away!!!!!!
Didn’t see police apart from the choppers but i see a chopper nearly every weekend now so becoming used to it!!!!
Big up to the crews who orgabised the party! Shame anout the trouble but people seemed to havng a wicked time before that!!!
Lets try and not fight the police in the future eh!!!

right then… i took part in this party and me and my friends took our rig, which has now been siezed with about 13 other rigs- all this is down to a few people who decided to light a fire a fields away which spread to surrounding fields causing a considerable amount of damage, if this fire had not happened we would have probably been allowed to continue the party, fairenuff the police closed the party as it was then seen as unsafe but they did not have to use such brutality and aggression, i estimate over 100,000 pounds worth of equipment has now been taken and will be crushed!! bear in mind- we dont make money from these events we do this purely for the people who want to rave, and now because of a few inconsiderate (or maybe just clumsy?) people there isnt likely to be a free party for several months! oh and the police seized my van and my money and basically told me to get on my way, i had no transport and was seperated from all my friends and i started the long walk back from westwood forest to bristol!! but kno this!! we will not stop!”! we will build another rig as will many other people!!! see u all soon! aarriiba!

Ok so how true is the statement i have highlighted in red? I didn’t think they crushed it all :you_crazy

before such a decision could be made it would need to go to Court.

its also possible that it might actually be sold by auction to and the money split between the heddlu and Forestry to cover the clean up costs, or even that the crews are given the kit back but fined an amount which is usually equal to about 3 times the cost of a PEL + clean up costs.

:crazy_diz So they estimate tens of thousands of pounds, that would be a fooking huge fine! I do hope the rigs get back to then safely, summer could be quiet with a few rigs missing.. 😥

well the Thames Valley crews who got done in 2004 for a warehouse party got fined £16,000 in total.

OTOH There are a lot of free party systems in the UK – and the Eastern crews are mostly still intact.

I think we need to get used to the fact that massive raves or multi day raves aren’t going to happen, but raves with 500-1000 people in well chosen areas that genuinely don’t cause unneeded trouble or contamination might still be possible.

Yeah that is a lot of money when you put on events for free! Not the sort of loose change you find down the back of the sofa!

fat chance of that. alot of the crews that are involved in massive raves dont give a fuck, which is why this site is so impotent when it comes to affecting change in the wider rave population. we can talk abotu how it should be done, but if none of teh people organising freeparties respect the site, theres little headway going to be made.

personally i would like to see loos being dug by the crews, but i cant see that happening. when we got away with raves for a few years, it was cos we schmoozed the officers into thinking we were responsible. which we were, comparitively speaking.

most people do give a fuck when they get busted and lose their rigs. I know a few crews (although I obviously won’t name names) who have adjusted their attitudes after a bust, although some just stop partying altogether.

OTOH there are still a lot of younger crews who read this site and who don’t want to make the mistakes others have made.

its actually not even the party crews that hot things up but individual haters who seem to be deliberately trying to sabotage the raves…

the toilet issue only actually becomes really bad for the bank holiday raves due to the extra days. Most reasonably healthy humans can go without visiting the toilet for a good few hours.

It depends a lot on the crews and people involved, the areas they party and how they deal with the rest of society, both with regard to raves and in their normal lives…

Until recently I was going to smaller but very friendly parties which had zero trouble with feds right in the middle of Thames Valley’s “zero tolerance” zone…

I’ve seen a similar situation in East Anglia recently….

I dunno, from what I’ve heard the rigs would not have been taken and the police wouldn’t have moved in if the fire hadn’t been started. So if we can change the attitudes of certain wankers, surely some police still have a fairly liberal attitude?

In terms of younger crews many do try and learn from mistakes, but some are effectively taking a step backwards. Me and timid rabbit were discussing a certain Manchester crew who are pretty reckless (partylines on a myspace bulletin…) and supported a riot…

To all the ravers who were at wentwood forest………We need to learn the rules if we are going to play the game!!
    DONT BLOCK THE ROADS
DONT LIGHT FIRES IN THE WOODS
DONT THROW BOTTLES OR USE ANY VIOLENCE TOWARDS THE POLICE
SEND REGISTERED LETTERS OF COMPLAINT TO THE LOCAL POLICE (THEY HAVE TO RESPOND TO A LETTER)
TRY AND STAY TWO STEPS AHEAD OF THE LAW

To the riot police……………………HOW DO YOU PEOPLE SLEEP AT NIGHT? SHAME ON YOU!!!

    Sandy

the parties need to get a bit smaller and more hush hush coz people who dont have a clue about what the freepartys are about are turning up and causing some of the trouble. i have been speaking to people who say that loads of chavs and scumbags turned up and were trying to break in to peoples cars .
