was considering going down to the next raindance (23 sept). never been to one before. whats raindance like? who has been before? worth a sat nite/week of no doubt recovery? £18?
just your thoughts
not sure if its the same crew as it was back in the early 90’s when I last went to a Raindance. There was big tops, big rigs, big lites & lazers, top DJ’s loads of funky dudes an sorted sucurity. I used to put out flyers back then so got in free not sure I would pay £18 for a ticket when there’s free festies about. Ave a gud un, onwards & upwards is the only way forwards
there were a couple of raindance events in 1991 at Escot (same place as beautful days festival), which is close to where i live
a few mates went
the doormen were total assholes… they ‘confiscated’ everything…even coins (you might chuck them at a laser:you_crazy )
everything that was on the flyer was there… in minature
sounds shit i did give flyers out for the event but never went myself.
I remeber going to Shepton Malet and had a gud un may be cause i new the crew so got in with no search etc as i said wouldn’t pay to go. Do u think its the same crew now?
i could be biased though
but i just prefer two way creativity.. i don’t enjoy being passive
hate waitin, queuin, being told when what you can do/can’t do
not my idea of fun fancy paying for that???????????
as a dj in the hardcore scene i can tell you that raindance is not run by the same people anymore, You will have a good tim eat SEONE? (i belive).
Its a wicked venue but it the most popualer in london at the moment, It very very different from the free party scene and its massive but rammed everytime i have been there!
Safe sort of crowd really except the drum and bass arena, But there are quite alot of chavs that get in there as well as underage.
If you been to a london legal before then go, But if its your first time in london i wouldnt really bother to be honest. Ok i like the venue i like raindance, but its not a patch on how they used to be! Its all about making hard money very fast
TBH if as a licensed venue with security and they can’t keep all their arenas safe [1] IMO they don’t deserve anybodies money, no matter how good the lineup may be.
[1] and if it means stopping playing D&B then so be it; even though I like the music myself! People need to make a stand and remove links between music and violence, otherwise it plays straight into the hands of the authorities.
ok cool. have a couple of friends coming down who r into that scene. might give it a go. apparently the venue is wicked thou!
i really like SEONE but i dont like the crowd they have!
have a good night though
