LOCUS, Kingpin, Clean Cut & Language
The Black Swan, Stapleton Road, Bristol

LOCUS, Kingpin, Clean Cut and Language combine this August Bank Holiday weekend to bring you a party of immense proportions, at Bristol’s legendary Black Swan.

LOCUS return to their underground roots in Room 1, programming a night of drum ‘n’ bass so filthy that you might well have to seek counselling the morning after. Flying in from Holland for one night only are current tech DnB prodigies Noisia, making their debut appearance in Bristol with an exclusive, stomach-wrenching 2-hour set. Recently releasing material on labels such as Moving Shadow, Renegade Hardware, Subtitles and Shadow Law Recordings, including remixing Konflict’s massive Messiah anthem, make sure you catch the unmissable combo of the grimey Black Swan main room and their even grimier tune selection. Joining them will be Therapy Bristol’s Spit, Context wonderboy Thinking, and Rit LOCUS. If that wasn’t enough, LOCUS’s very own Kulak will be finishing off the night with a 1.5-hour set of the duttiest beats and his trademark impeccable mixing. MC Jakes adds his lyrical talent to the night, rounding off a very messy evening indeed 🙂

KINGPIN take the reigns in Room 2, presenting Smithmonger and resident DJs Malarky, Gecko, Jon Rokka, Gilbatron & Kraymon. Smithmonger hails from Tasmania, Australia, but is now living in London as an accomplished DJ, producer and engineer. He has released hugely successful tech and electro influenced breakbeat on labels such as TCR, 10 Kilo & Oblong which have been played by everyone from James Lavelle to Hybrid and seen incessant radio play from the likes of Fergie, Zane Lowe and Annie Nightingale. Having played a blinding set at KINGPIN’s second birthday party at Trinity the boys thought it would be rude not to invite him round to play again. Expect filthy electro-techno-breaks, a smiling crowd and a lot of sweat.

Clean Cut and Language join forces for Room 3’s delights, and ask you to take the weight off your feet and ‘chill out’. Chill Out, that is, in the impossibly stupid way you’d expect from these two organisations. Plus, joining the merry pranksters, high on laughing gas and throwing his shovel full into the mix, will be the Python-esque Pete Outlaw. Li’l Fellaz and “How clean is your Microhouse?” complete this absurdly absurd line-up, guaranteeing a fun night for all. No coats allowed (you won’t feel the benefit when you go outside), but cardigans more than welcome.

At the stupidly cheap price of a fiver on the door (or even cheaper if you put in a little bit of effort), we dare you to miss this. Go on, just try it! [:@]
