  • Was a good party on a phat location. The beach, well nuff said and a massive crew there to keep the vibe high. Shame the rig fell over :laugh_at: but FFS the mosh pit was avin it from the word go so they needed support the rig from behind. I thought we were supposed to be going to multi rigger, then we got closer and it said they were settin up a few rigs, then we got there and ther was 1 rig that ent exactly the best but done the job. Fair play to the lady who set up a bong stall, never seen that at a free party before! Anyway good night out once again and roll on next bank hol! raaa

    another news report here

    http://new.edp24.co.uk/content/news/story.aspx?brand=EDPOnline&category=News&tBrand=edponline&tCategory=news&itemid=NOED07%20May%202007%2017%3A22%3A16%3A307

unfortunately they have been way less complimentary; not surprising due to the site being raved two weeks in a row, and more rubbish left behind as well :you_crazy

this is an interesting claim (and unfortunately believable)

    Quote:
Revellers, who would not get give the names, told the EDP they were not doing any harm, “just having a party” and they claimed police had discouraged them from clearing up litter, warning they might then be picked out and arrested as organisers.

This may indicate cops are treating this as a crime scene and are (with the council) going through the litter for forensic evidence! As outlandish as this may seem; it has happened before at larger raves…

Shame i missed this one, still had a blinder this weekend so can’t grumble, but yeh hope theres still locations left unrinsed by july/august

I hope so, but I reckon that place is gonna get locked down now, as locals are obviously gonna think “well if thats how many they get on a damp rainy weekend, how many would arrive in high summer?”

shame as that is obviously a perfect summer venue.. whats worse is that locking down that access point is also backtracking on the “right to access the countryside” laws that many people fought for…

didnt make this one when i heard which rig was commin out, then definately decided against it wen i heard that only 1 or 2 of their scoops were actually working. 3days of constant back to back hardtek and hardstyle from grandaddy funk doesnt rely tickle my fancy.. live rely close to the venue so yeh i no it was a fat location, one of norfolks best spots i reckon, that i’ve bin too anyways. definately hear the comment on the bbc dude GL, yeh he seems like a real nice guy and had positive reasons as to why he was filming but no ones ever gunna c it from our point of view completely so dont be bait wen being interviewed! oh and check ur not walkin round with a polo nose too…!:bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl

I was gutted when i heard what rig was out aswell!
we got to horsey gap at 1ish n the rigg still werent there, it was a shame that the other riggs pulled out!

well I’m probably about the same age group as you, I’ve been raving since 1991, partied in London squats, warehouses in SE England and the outdoor events of the Ridgeway and various other places

when I moved to East Anglia in 2006 I was a bit sceptical about all the claims about the “Norfolk” Scene, but I didn’t believe a lot of the rubbish chatted on other places and approached it with an open mind..

I won’t say the parties are 100% perfect (the “production values” are like what parties were like in SE England 7 years ago) – but compared to many regions the atmosphere is a lot better.

You still get a few idiots and a lot of ego/politics amongst crews but by and large the party people are friendly and happy

earlier this year I went to a barn party after studio 3 with some quality people I met from here and at times I almost felt like I was 18/19 again, experiencing parties for the first time (and this was before I had taken anything)

now as is probably clear from a lot of my posts on here I am a cynical old bastard with a lot of my wider social/political views, so it would take a lot to make me feel like that….

I still feel to an extent that I’ve regained my youth when I’m at a good party round here.. (and that would be the “third bite at the cherry”, so I’m not complaining!)

Glad you feel like that dude! (Agree the production values could be upped a bit though!)

I feel I should point out that this ‘rig’ is not held high in anyone’s estimations! IMO they should be boycotted at all costs. All they do is turn up uninvited to other peoples parties, play rinsed hard trance on cds that they’ve blatently stolen off the internet (even other people mixes), don’t even bother to mix and just leave rubbish around.

There was loads of people there as the other party got cancelled at the last minute, and as it was a bank holiday everyone wanted to go out.

No surprise that it was in the same site as last weeks, obviously they can’t be arsed to find their own sites, hence causing more grief for the residents, leaving rubbish, etc.

I’m glad you had a good time, but there’s much better parties round these ways.

Just a shame the riot police didn’t turn up:

“Stop the rave? Certainly mate;- rigs over there. Do you need a hand lifting the speakers?”

Quality party!!! Lovein every minute i was there! We turned up around 5am sunday mornin caravan in tow lol that we found in a layby on the way so party was nice and relaxing to av sumwhere to chill out for sum time! Shame about it just bein 1 rig but by sunday night that rig was pumping fair play to the man!!! everybody at the party was freindly as fuck! even when our caravan blocked the track for a bit and we had to put in teamwork with other ravers to move it over and bounce other cars to the side of the track so other cars cud get out! Police gave us a bollockin about the caravan bein nearly in the ditch cus it was squashin the weeds or summit like that! just cus there spose to be a national heritage or sum shit like that! All i can say is hahahah funnyest bank holiday i’ve had in a while! Just fairplay to everyone who came ure all safe as fuck!!!

that site is seriously getting rinsed tho.its a good small party site, a few small small partys over the summer (where things get properly tidied up and does’nt cause disruption) etc but a big bank hol one like that? alot of bad press over this one. and yer the er .. rig that did turn up.hmmm…well at least people had a good time i supose.

not sure who the comment was aimed at but I didn’t go out last weekend, partly for the reasons you stated – I don’t think its right to rinse a venue like that as I’ve seen that done in my old area and thats what led to the zero tolerance!

My comments were more about the previous parties I’ve been to in the last few weeks, but for those coming from SE England even that débacle would be way better than what they have in those ends which is zero tolerance and ASBOs.

Some friends of mine didn’t even go to the party but happened to be in the area and went down to try and help with the clear up as they were so disgusted with what had happened to this venue.

thats my friends mum who set up that stall good idea id say :weee:

an was good to see everyone help get the rig back up

    raaa

Drove up sunday evening .. got there about 9 and was met by 2 riot vans and a road block.

The copper came and spoke to us .. conversation went something like

    where you going?

    the beach

    where you going?

    the beach

    you going to the rave?

    no the beach

Are you going to the rave on the beach?

    no just the beach

are you going to the rave?

    Yes!!

He then proceded to tell us it wernt all that good, but we could go if we really wanted to.

    I was well shocked, lol.

Anyways saw all my friends, met ppl i wanted to meet, had a good time, fair play to old man with the rig, if he hadnt done this party we’d have nothing to go to due to the other one falling apart due to rig politics.

    shame it had to rain.

shame i did some acid in the morning that completely sent me loopy .. in a good way though 🙂

all in all was ok ..

YES MATE! i live like 10mins away from horsey and didnt go to that party for various reasons but saw and heard about the aftermath, fucking rediculous. no respect. that place is a national trust place and therefore it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realise theres gunna be a lot of fuss over the clean up. not only that but thats one of norfolks fattest venues for summer parties and its probably bin fucked up for any up and comming parties in the actual summer. they are a fucking joke, they turn up to other ppls parties and set up, play shit tunes of other dj’s mixes then leave with a half full van yet can’t be bothered to actually clean up. its up to the rig at the end of the party to at least do a quick pick up with a bin bag of what ppl hav’nt taken home with them. personally i’m glad the old man’s rig is fucked. raaa
