You didnt even go, so how the fuck do you know exactly how much cleanng up was done and who did what?
cos my mate went there after the party and the next day and its bin all over local news and i would hear these things considering i live on the doorstep and whats more its all over sj about the mess everyone left…… :you_crazy
a lot of ravers from the Norwich area do use that beach as a chillout spot during the week.
There were people from the local area and even people from further away in East Anglia who didn’t even go to the party for much of it but who tried to help clearing up
But the problem with bank holiday parties is that there is always a whole extra days rubbish, plus the North Sea wind would blow a lot of it further afield.
People do try and clear up the rubbish but often it just isn’t good enough, particularly for 3 day parties because everyone is too tired and not everyone helps out.
Well if its all over Sj then it must be true.
I spent at least 2 hours going round tidying up, so did a fair few others. and we loaded bags into the rig van.
it’s not a personal attck on u or ur mates, i make a habit of cleaning up at parties too, the only reason i went off on one was purely the fact that horsey is owned by the national trust and therefore if parties are gunna be put on there special attention should be made for cleaning up, whats more it really is a proper beauty spot to those who live in the area. sooo many parties hav bin put on there and due to this one the council are now reviewing whether or not there should be a gate bloacking the entrance which could result in that spot bein not used at all.
Yea I know that fair enough. But anyone thats been to a free party is guilty at some point of ruining other peoples land.
There are people out there that will tidy up as much as they can, and there are others that will simply turn up – party – then leave .. it’s a shame but its the way it is.
The party this weekend was never meant to be as big as it was. We had one planned down our area, but due to a certain rig pulling out it all fell apart.
So everyone decended upon horsey which made the rubbish quadrouple in amount.
they’ve already got the barrier, so it means that its just the paperwork holding back from it being used – the right to access can be and often is overridden on the grounds of “anti-social behaviour” (which is what littering and damage is classed as).
I was told by people from the area (ravers, whose word I trust) that the fence was broken up for firewood as well (which perhaps wouldn’t have happened if people could have waited until summer) :hopeless:
If we are not careful and keep fucking up venues at this rate ravers are gonna run out of country to party in.
The cleaning up thing boils down to personal responsibility at the end of the day doesn’t it?
I tend to always drive about with a roll of bin-liners in my car [it upsets me to see rubbish strewn across the roadside in the countryside so I have been known to pick up that kind of litter] and the inside of my car looks like a bin but I would never just drop it where I stood :you_crazy far better to have a pocket or car full of rubbish than to drop it and expect someone else to pick it up . Its not unknown for areas to be tidier when I left than when I arrived :laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:
If you were in a friend’s home would you treat it like that? and would they invite you back if you did?
yes it does however realistically out of a few hundred wrecked party goers not all are gunna clean their stuff up. and therefore the rest i feel is the responsibility of the rig at the end. but yeh ur right it should be a personal responsibility but sadly not everyone takes that on board.
Seems a little unfair. The crew has already organised all the sound equipment and its transport and loading….and then played music [ :groucho: not everyone agrees on this one :groucho:] all night. Think the punters should face up to the fact that someone has to pick up the mess…and it would be better not to drop rubbish at all
I think the bigger problem is how many of the people at a rave actually care if there is one in 6 months or 2 years time?
A lot of people (not necessarily the young) are just in it for a few months/years, they cane drugs for a bit, then walk away from the party when the drugs stop working and aren’t too bothered if venues get locked down or rigs get taken by the Police…
yeh but thats wat u hav to do if u wanna put a party on, otherwise dont put one on. u do hav a point, its jus the way i see it is that if u put on a party then then the party is ur responsibility. not saying the crew should hav to pick up all the mess, all i’m sayin is that before they go they should grab wats left, if they can. because if they hadnt chosen that spot then it wouldnt hav got ruined in the first place, but then again if the punters hadn’t turned up to party then e.t.c. its everyones responsibility jus think the crew should hav the final clear up, and whoever is still there should lend a hand :group_hug
ideally yes. realistically… 😉
TBH wats the point in moanin bout that venue bein rinsed yeah it probably will get put on lock down now but who cares find another fuckin place this countrys big enough and theres plenty of spots!
