the only way this scene will survive is if party-goers use their consciences, and dont support organisers that dont show respect….the internet means that people no longer have anywhere to hide…. They cant just take the money and run as easily as in the past….
Thats what i was thinking. people shouldnt support organisers that could be jeopodising the whole party scene. Councils have thrown party organisers a life line with the Tens agreement and if people take the piss with it by not doing what the council ask then this could easily be taken away.
i doubt theyd get another tens after failing to meet most of the agreements on it this yr. and not cleaning up the site seriously jepordises the chance of the other legal events going through at the minute to use the site

thanks…
thats a clear example of how what one crew (or just a few people from a crew) do affects many others.
Lots of locals and even councillors disagreed with the concept of TENS right from the start as they felt it was not hard enough and didn’t protect the locals enough from noise/anti-social behaviour. The Tory press claimed it was “opening the floodgates to 3 day raves”.
it was only comparatively recently (1992 or so) that large clubs were allowed to open later than 12 midnight, and even in the areas where I live 2am is seen as “late night” and every extension is fiercely opposed by some locals.
The concept of late licensing is an experiment, not a permanent change in society. It can easily be rolled back either by this government or the next one if there is a backlash against this – already many of the 6am licenses once given to legal dance music venues in the 90s seem to have disappeared, even in more “tolerant” areas.
