we did an outdoor free party in sheffield saturday night with three rigs….
this party was not connected with shefstock, although we know the organisers and have taken rigs there before. just as we were about to do a collection to cover our costs one of the shefstock organisors appeared with a donation tub… she had turned up at our party and collected money from the folk by all three sound systems…. people gave her cash as it was a great party and they thought they were helping the sound systems cover costs. what the fuck is going on? shefstock is a pay event that generates a profit and how rude is hi jacking a free party to collect cash for an unrelated event? we’re gutted! shefield soundsystems beware!!!

got there before me dave, i was just about to repost this from where you originally posted it. Where the people def from sheffstock and not just some thieving bastards scamming? Have you tried to spk to the actual organisers? or left comment on their myspace? Seems fucking harsh that they are nicking donations from FREE parties when they are actually charging £5/10 for sheffstock this year! Reckon a official reply from the organisers on here explaining whats going on might be good. @ sparkplug do you know the organisers to pass this message on?

hi, yeah it was elaenor who took the money from our party….
i got a call off eryl last night claining only a small amount of money was taken. i believe a fair bit of cash was taken, but its not the main point, what has upset me the most is that we went to all the trouble of putting the party together, and then its hi jacked by a commercial event!!
shefstock was born out of a coming together of free party folk, now it appears that shefstock (which makes a pfofit) is trying to take money from free parties for itself.
hey shefstock organisors… what happened to last years profits? how come you never disclose or publish accounts?

to be fair i dont think they were intentionally trying to take money from the free party, i did hear them say collecting donations for sheffstock

they knew exactly what they were doing! they were at a free party,nothing to do with them by the way! collecting for shefstock, without asking rig owners permission, cheeky as fuck!! well out of ORDER!!!!!

if they where collecting at a free party and saying that the money was going towards sheffstock and the people that were gifting the money to them knew where the money was going then what is the problem .. if they didnt want to give it towards it they wouldnt have would they.. if this money genuanely goes towards another party where we can all enjoy ourselves then woopy doo .. sounds no worse than oxfam or greenpeace collecting at glastonbury ect..
though maybe they should have asked first / or maybe not ,it was a free party after all .. free to all !!
