I’m sure you’ll all be saddened to hear that at 79 Alexander Shulgin has contracted bacterial pneumonia. According to a few sites he is making a slow but steady recovery.
Send some love his way. :bounce_ci
damn
i was hoping he’d concoted the ‘immaculate high’ and would live forever
Well I did read that his heart was “suprisingly strong” for a man of such an age so he’s done himself some good.
having checked a few sites (dated August) they claim he is now out of hospital and recovering at home. The doctors have found he has a mild heart condition
a few of my relatives work in primary care for the elderly and this sort of illness is fairly common for a man of that age (more common than living to age 80 or beyond TBH!)
considering he has worked with all sorts of hazchem/solvents and also appears to have (like all good mad scientists) used himself as a human lab rat for many years, and been hassled by the feds on more than one occasion, I’d say he is in remarkably good health all told but wish him all the best anyway…
he’s not just an innovator but a hero of this scene….
