folk, rock, reggae, Dub, ska, DnB, jungle, psytrance, oldskool (hardcore), Hiphop.
(although i have to say that hiphop is a culture as opposed to a music, strictly, ecompasing dj, mc, breakers, graff artists and beatboxes. to me this is the best thing going, as it is more free in my eyes than any genre and is more receptive to change, even if its for the worse [puff daddy, hang your head.])
genres are shite tho, the best stuff always comes when people arent paying attention to genre or trying to conform to what has gone before (DnB is a suspect for this). Aphex twin, the Who, prodigy, shitmat, cassette boy etc are the heads who create new genres and new paths for other people to explore.
