Okay, after 2 near death , or at least far too close for comfort, experiences vaping compounds in bongs, especially the 2nd one where I believed the only part of the equation that got me in trouble was having a fresh gauze in the bong (but now think there is another part of that) I’ve thought a lot about any possible differences in the intensity of the effect you can get from a compound by using different bongs. I’m focusing exclusively on glass bongs because plastic ones invariably have shite bowls made of metal that you couldn’t fit an amoeba in (I do own 3 acryllic bongs though) and I don’t own any ceramic bongs so I can’t comment on them but I’d expect the same applies probably.
Right then, when I vaped ephenidine and ended up in bad shape even at a dose I had taken and probably exceeded slightly I put it entirely down to the gauze being freshly replaced making it far more efficient and giving me the total dose in 1 very quick hit which seems obvious but there are a couple of things about the particular bong I used that I believe contributed and had I used one of my other bongs things might have gone differently (BTW, pics of my bongs can be found here: https://www.partyvibe.org/forums/drugs/107565-post-your-smoking-equpiment.html#post975435).

In the picture abouve the bong I used ison the right, 2nd from the bottom. Yes I know the photos are shit but I’m not Lord Lucan so you’ll have to live with them. You can’t tell from the pics, and it’s hard to tell when they are right in front of your eyes but the diameters of each are fractionally different but, and I think more importantly, 3 of the 4 have obstructions in the form of either dimples or diagonal slashes cutting into them and this restricts the flow of air through them and this seems to matter regardless of the actual diameter of the bong. These obstructions aren’t just toke reducing crap though, they serve a purpose, having water in the bong does help a bit but standing a column of ice cubes on these obstructions makes smoking FAR nicer than water ever could (have a pic of my crystakl bong with an ice column bit can’t find it right now). The glow glass bong has no such obstructions but it has other issues.
Looking down the necks the crystal bong has the smallest area abailable to allow smoke through followed by the one with the bent neck, the filthiest one is next and as said, the glow glass one has no obstructions so the last 2 seem far more efficient at getting yiu as smashed as possible with the same amount of compound and I’ve noticed this regularly (all other things being equal obviously, new gause, clean chillum etc.).. The diameter of the clear (filthy) one is bigger than the glow glass one by a seemingly significant amount and as the slits cut into it are cut into it to a very shallow depth, you can see still a massive area looking down the neck, but them being at 45 degrees (and this is just a thought, might be total bollocks) but with those slits being at 45 degrees, and based on an experiment I saw with vertexs, they could actually help get the smoke through faster than it would otherwise but idk the maths or even how closely you can equate gasses and liquids but anywhoo, that’s reason 1 I nearly killed myself with ephenidine.
Reason 2 is the chillum. Again every one is different and I’ll try post some pics later of all 4 of em but here’s a shitty one comparing the glow glass one and the one that has the bent neck.

Again, I’m not David Bailey so fucking live with it, you probably can’t at all see they have different diameters and this does seem to matter……
