  • Although I’m a sceptical about the police as anyone this does seem to be a step in the right direction. I’ve had some of the best times of my life at Exodus parties and would love to see them truly back. Seems the Exodus crew have had a good hard think about the best way to proceed over the last few years and who knows? They may have hit upon a solution that police, ravers, landowners, everyone can be happy with.

As a footnote, Biggs looks *ahem* different without his dreads! lol

what’s the date on that report? is this current?

    i hope it is…. 😉

yeh this was from this week, been part of a plan of action in response to the the rioting in yamouth the other week

hav a lot of respect 4 what exodus hav done wit haz manor etc n its good to see a crew that doest jus put free parties on wit the fuck the law attidute that jus givs em more reason to close us down, but instead doin something about trying to reach a compromise that hopefuly cud work – will be interstin to see wat happens tho i dont hav the biggest faith in the police force!

itll all end in tears……..ooorr will it???

it doesn’t have to, and it will be your age group which makes the difference..

Even with Brains Kan if you look at the actual news reports it was all the younger people what started hussing bottles/cans at OB.

Many of the actual crew people from Kan and Exodus are older than me.

A lot of them have long term partners, children, careers and homes to look after, and eventually (particularly if they are being put under pressure by their partners) this will take priority over their involvement in the rave scene, it will be up to the younger people to carry things forward.

I’m not even that suspicious or paranoid of the motives of the Police here. If they wanted to nick all the Exodus lot they can do that anyway.

I’m more worried about a reaction from nimbys as this was discussed before a few years ago in the same region.

The cops organised some public meeting about “problems caused by raves” for the locals, and all the youths who did actually live in the area also attended (including some organisers, at the risk of being identified by CID and subsequently arrested). They behaved well throughout the complaints from the older antis.

When the cops invited the younger people to the table to discuss tolerance zones, several of the older locals angrily got up and walked out of the meeting, as they thought the cops were “giving in to the criminals”.

The remaining members of Exodus are actually doing a very brave thing IMO. If they fuck up (or someone fucks things up for them) they can be held accountable – they may get sued in the civil courts as well as criminal charges and maybe even risk losing HAZ Manor which is probably still a load of peoples homes.

They seem prepared to take that risk, fair play to them for doing so.

Whilst I fully agree with the sentiment, let’s not be naive to the reality.

The Exodus collective effectively disbanded in 2000 after irreconcilable differences final tore the core of the group apart.

The sound system was lost after a number of ill conceived parties at the farm that generally noised up the locals.

Some of those that remained burned many bridges with long standing supporters in the community and there was a sense of deliberate distancing and isolation.

Recently some ex collective DJ’s have plated out at commercial do’s under the Exodus name, along side Rat Pack ..no less!!, this from the same residual crew that would threaten violence to those who dared to hand out flyers at their do’s in the past and threaten other local crews for parting on “their path”.

Haz manor has recently come under threat as the inevitable re-development plans for the site gain the weight of the cash hungry house builders and now after years of silence “Exodus” are holding “private” parties and offering support to the free party scene.

Call me cynical if you like I’m not convinced any of this would have happened if the manor wasn’t under threat and there was more support from the local community to save it. I feel for those who may loose what they have strived to build but lets not pretend this is Exodus that died many years ago.

Yeah i have heard alot about exodus! Bad guys/good guys! Went to one of there partys and didn’t enjoy it one bit was very nervous and felt you had to watch your bacl quite alot! Because of this we left after about an hour but some people i know stayed for a while and one of them ended up getting mugged!

Fair play to them for chatting to the old bill im sure that couple of guys are sound and just wanna keep the scene alive!

On the grudge side of things i dont think there are many rave crews who are against eachother seems to be just those involved with exodus but i may be wrong!
