  • I’m wondering what has happened to the free party scene in the south west (devon in particular).

Very little seems to have been happening this summer. There is most definately a large number of people wanting to party, but few people making the effort to make it happen.

personally, our crew (Fat Baby’s Accidental parties) has suffered some set backs with the demise of some resources leaving us pushed to create an event of the quality we aim for. We will be back in action in a couple of weeks, tho.;)

Deep Cartel used to be out every weekend, but I’ve heard nothing from them for months. The rig seemed to get smaller and quiter until… nothing:(

There have been a few blinders, most notably, on a farm near Week for ‘Xs’ 40th.

There has always been a ‘tradition’ around here, that I don’t really understand, of club DJ’s not playing at free parties. However, the lack of skilled DJ’s is definately not the problem. At our last event we ended up with a queue for the decks that could have kept us going for the whole summer:)

The OB around here have been quite reasonable in recent years, so the threat of losing equipment can’t be what’s keeping all those booming speakers behind closed doors.

There are some very young hip-hop parties, but little else.

What’s going on? Anyone shed any light on the matter?
