spekcles in the shit batch
I went to this party
i was pretty shocked to see a bobby walking past me at 4am when i was racking up!
norfolk needs to sort itself ot
welcome to partyvibe..
yeah its a big shame what is happening here..
being a bit older and (supposedly) more responsible I find it painful to watch what is happening in these ends, especially as I saw crews making all the same mistakes in the area where I used to live before (SE England) and those areas have got locked down too..
I’l be brutally honest though and admit that at my age I’m not gonna cry if there aren’t any more free parties soon. I have after all had 17 years of fun at them, as long as some people on this forum have been alive!
I do feel sorry for anyone whose younger and only just started though, although even my younger friends seem to have given up partying because of all the stupidity that is going on these days..
Another news story on EDP with helicoptier footage

“Dozens of police officers will be on standby at weekends to crack down on raves following a spate of illegal parties which involved drug users and potential crime gangs, Norfolk’s deputy chief constable has warned”.
““There is no information at the moment to suggest any links with organised crime gangs, but certainly there were people arrested for and with possession of drugs”.
…on being able to totally contradict yourself.

i know silly or what it does make me chuckle
it makes me laugh as well, but its not good its blatent scare mongering. Trying to get the public on side with them rather than the us. I havent lived at home for ages now, but my brother still does, my dad knows he goes to parties, but i think he just thinks it quite innocent fun. If the papers and cops start coming out with scare stories like this i reckon my bro may be getting more of a hard time in future (they live round that area too).
There such a caring bunch….
“Moreover, there is always a concern about health and safety and we are extremely worried that due to the use of drugs during such events, an accident could occur.”
They really are silly though do they think drugs have only just started to be taken at raves? I bet more people have accidents at legal raves than illigal ones
they do but they (supposedly) pay for the costs in licensing fees and ticket prices (although NHS rarely sees any of it)
a few years back the home office actually said that they don’t mind raves provided they are licensed and all the costs of police/ambulances etc are paid for by the organisers..

its swings and roundabouts so basically whats the difference between that and getting pissed at the weekend and needing an ambulance really riles me how they make excuses for everything and its always down to taxpayers money being used. Well im a taxpayer and i say let me free party on
Thats why there is a ton of tax on booze, pubs have to pay thousands for licenses and deal with x amount of red tape (which is why everyone moans about the cost of a pint) and there is now stuff like challenge 21 and CCTV everywhere..the free party scene arose due to the fact many legal venues are also being locked down.
There is even talk of eventually reducing even the late night opening hours and if stuff like Pams House or other legal dance events causes too much trouble that too will get locked down.
here in Suffolk we’ve already lost one of our main dance music clubs because it got blighted by violence.
The big problem is people like us (who have normal day jobs etc) are seen as the minority amongst the current crowd of ravers in East Anglia.
Every time the feds do their surveillance they build up a profile of who goes in what car and who is in that car. They can find out the driver easily enough, then their associates can often be found simply by scanning bebo or myspace where everyone puts their pictures up.
Its rarely a case that individuals will get nicked as no one is that much of a “villain” but it is the case that people who “shout loudest” online get watched and judged. Not just by cops but by the media, forestry commission and all sorts of “interested parties”.
Although people on here are careful what they say and lead positive lives, this isn’t the case for everyone who attends raves and has a social network page or chats on other sites..
Because of this and other surveillance the authorities are doing, the crowd is now being viewed as a lot of people aged 14-21 who are either still in high school or college and dependent on parents or living transient lifestyles moving quickly between short-term jobs.
Some are on benefits , others can be traced to be “potentially involved in crime”. Many are unrepentant about discussing or glorifying crime/anti-social behaviour online.
Also when people do too much K or other drugs and get ill, the NHS keeps track of the numbers involved (not the names) and sends this to the Drugs action team and the Police find out about it from there (this goes for the legal events as well)
So the people now currently attending unlicensed raves are seen as a burden on society rather than contributors to it.
Incidentally parties in Thetford Forest are nothing new, they have been going on for 10 years or more but its only recently that the authorities have really considered them to be a threat.
Don’t you just wish people could get along and cut it with all the violence, i see what you mean though about most people that attend raves though i guess its just a shame it has to be that way
its strange because I certainly wouldn’t say East Anglia is a “rough” area like an inner city but there seems to be a lot of problems which occur simply because everyone is stubborn and won’t back down and find a compromise…. (this TBH is why the raves have ended up in the situation they are in..)
you’d think that wouldnt you, to tell you the truth i would rather go out for a night in manchester than in norwich simply because i would feel safer i think its just as bad anywhere you go or maybe i just attract trouble
TBH I’ve never been out in Norwich but have always been wary of many town centre venues unless I actually know the promoters and the crowd etc (sometimes go to Lowestoft for this reason)
some of the old heads from round this way explained what has happened in the city over the last few years, apparently Norwich was quite a safe place at one point (and TBH theres more happening than in Suffolk!)
A lot of the problems are ironically because the police (aided by the breweries) had been so successful at stopping “drug friendly” venues (i.e those which would encourage dance music), and clamping down on “Ecstasy culture” – instead of people being pilled up in town they are all on a mixture of booze, K and often coke and can easily become paranoid and aggressive in the wrong surroundings..
