TBH I’ve never been out in Norwich but have always been wary of many town centre venues unless I actually know the promoters and the crowd etc (sometimes go to Lowestoft for this reason)

some of the old heads from round this way explained what has happened in the city over the last few years, apparently Norwich was quite a safe place at one point (and TBH theres more happening than in Suffolk!)

A lot of the problems are ironically because the police (aided by the breweries) had been so successful at stopping “drug friendly” venues, instead of people being pilled up in town they are all on a mixture of booze, K and often coke and can easily become paranoid and aggressive in the wrong surroundings..

i hate going out in norwich even coming out of the cinema late night on riverside you get abuse shouted at you and a friend of mine got mugged the other week on prince of wales road.

This countries a fucking joke! They don’t mind you going out drinking being a cunt an that, But go to a free party and dance and harm no one apart from a few trees and they go fucking mental!

    Fuck em all i say:weee:

its worse than that, its not that they “don’t mind” (if you act up in front of a bobby or CCTV you will still get nicked) but its all about money.

The breweries caved in to the governments/cops demands and get grudgingly endured (and believe you me there are plenty in power who would see the licensing hours rolled back)

this country has been restricting musical events since the 1400s..

there is also personal responsibility though, its possible to drink and not behave like a twat and its also possible to do a rave and not be bait/leave rubbish around…

Yeah your right about that matey! It’s always about the benjamins!

Maybe the time has come for us to think about doing legal events (Getting TENS) and actually work with the authorities. 😉

a fair few people in the East of England (the bigger region which includes Beds/Herts) have talked about this since 2005 (when these laws came in) but too many people think its “giving in to the authorities” or “too much work”.

That said I think a few of the older Norwich lot are planning something..

the big sticking point is that one person has to put their name to the application. This means they can be held responsible in civil court (i.e sued for lots of money) if one punter acts like a idiot and causes some incident – but TBH the same risks are present to the people who run legal events in Norwich and Yarco anyway…

I guess noone wants to be held responsible for anyone else actions but if people want to keep raving in outside places maybe this is the way forward espesh seeing as they seem to be cracking down now more so than ever. i don’t think its giving in there is always room for comprimise

I think one problem is a lot of the people doing the parties these days to put it bluntly don’t even have the communication skills to put together something like an event management plan and those who do tend to walk away from the party scene due to all the stupidity..

Well i guess there are people out there who will not put the effort in to do that, tbh if i was in a crew in norfolk that puts on illigals it would be something i would look into i mean surely less of a chance of getting your party broke up by police is a good thing.

the document with the site map, entry/exit points and safety/risk assesment which is part of the TENS license application

how much info the council asks for seems to vary between areas

I’ve heard of anything from four to 35 pages

apparently they aren’t that difficult to knock up though, and its merely to show you can actually look after the safety of the 500 people at the event..
