Im really pissed off! Me and some mates had finally got our arses in gear and saved up a bit of money for a rig! We had started planning a party found locations ect!
And now once again theres been a riot! With ALOT of press coverage! (majoraty very very biast against us)
Now im paranoid as fuck and wondering weather it would really be worth the risk!
We through a small party on private land for a friends birthday the other day! And although the system was small and it wasnt really free party massive there it was still a wicked night!
Mabye have to try and concentrate on doing legal events but there just not the same! I want the people and the culture! The moshing and the K holed people lying on the floor!
I want it to be a illegal!

I’ve been to parties with TENS and they had the same atmosphere as an unlicensed party.
The only real evidence it was legal was slightly more expensive marquees and sound kit otherwise it was just like a free party.
You were supposed to pay a fiver entry but we ended up going in by a different route totally unchallenged – not because we tried to blag it but there wasn’t any gate crew – on the way one of the lads we went with fell in a small river but thats only because he was pissed up and didn’t listen to several people telling him about the presence of this river.
the music was a bit more on the commercial side of breaks but that was the organisers IMO right to play whatever music they want on their set – was still fun…
just remember if u do do illegal, hold it in the middle of absolute nowhere preferabley somewhere near westberkshire:wink: , cos as the suffolk police officer boyo said they cant do nothing if they have next to no complaints
sorry to break the news to you but every obvious raveable area of South Oxon and West Berkshire got rinsed when both of you were probably about 12-14 years old
the same riots and stuff happened, they didn’t make the media as much though as in those days the cops didn’t want too much publicity as they weren’t sure they could deal with the situation
by 2005 Thames Valley was already locked down… other force areas see TVP’s methods of dealing with raves as an example to follow..
ooo those were the days 12, 13, 14, where weekends were just a mear unintegral part of the week, everything was provided on a plate, when the pain in ur heart or liver or lungs were just growing pains (not just a hard weekend on the lash) and when the ultimate time of the week was monday after noon. sweet times, terrorism didnt exist on the news only with the neighbours. Where cartoons rulled television from 330 to 5.00 oclock everyday. when a party was just when some old fogeys come round ur house and have T and a rave was used as something is the rave, ooo those were the days
i say start off small private style partys, go down the woods, just invite your mates, and start to get a feel for what kind of vibe you want from your partys, the kind of people you want at them, the places you most love to party in and just play the tunes you wanna hear and the volume you want to hear it… then it should all follow after that…
i wouldnt get paranoid about the police, at the end of the day in my opinion, if youve got the right vibe with certain partys, they attract the right people and not the ones who are looking for trouble, and spending a decent amount of time and thought on location and theres no way you cant party right through sunday and still come home with the whole of your rig
also im not sure if this is true, someone might be able to put me straight on this one, but if you hire your system out, say to yourself or your mate and have invoices, contract, etc the police can confiscate your system, but they do have to eventually give it back to the registered owner… not much comfort if they hold onto it for years, but atleast you’ll get it back… not sure if its true tho..
the owner may have to prove that they didn’t know it was going to be used for illegal purposes
an old urban myth i’m afriad

surely you could just say you thought it was for a birthday party at a house or something (maybe not if its a 30k rig, but…)… if that was on the invoice etc, it might work (?).
the cops seize stuff first (using whatever force is necessary) and you have to argue the case in Court
people would have to lie through their teeth and perjury / perverting the course of justice is even more of a crime
even a legal birthday party can be busted if enough neighbours disagree with the noise levels and complain
Surely the police would also have to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that you knew it was gonna be used for illegal activities, which could be pretty hard, so long as you wern’t photographed next to the system gurning!
Only if they can prove beyond all resonable doubt that your lying! 😉

drop it mate. it’s been tried and failed
it worked briefly in 1988/89 but then those first loopholes were closed up after the commercial acid house barons created a backlash.
