Parents will lie and lie some more when it comes to their kids innocence with drugs. Len Bias was a basketball star in America in 1986 who had his heart stop from too much cocaine (he had no underlying abnormalities), his mom to his day says that it was either A. his first time doing cocaine (everyone else’s statements negates this) or B. He was “poisoned”… The media ran with his story and claimed he died from smoking crack cause his windpipe was inflamed on the autopsy even though everyone present said they were insufflating cocaine and thus his legacy is mandatory minimum sentences of 5 grams for crack and 500 grams for powder and he didn’t even use crack. His last words were “I am a horse” right before hitting an ungodly line, trying to stand up and then collapsing. I guess there is a tie in it is that if he’d been a bit better educated about cocaine he might not have tempted fate with a lot of cocaine in a short time period; his last words display hubris to the maximum imaginable possibility.
If the girls had known it was almost 300mg of MDMA instead of normal 50-120mg they might have thought twice or split the pills. Knowledge never kills. Glad they’re on their way back to full health.
I’d like to no who the dirty fuckers are that’s selling to kids that age, now there the fucking dirty scum that needs there knee caps done n send to jail then there knee caps done again
Yet the police go after people who have personal use weed and let these scum bags run the streets
The cops have arrested and bailed the “dealers” who are not even that old themselves – they do not appear to have actually been selling them to the kids for profit and most likely did genuinely give them away thinking the girls were perhaps a few years older and more responsible.
Times have moved on a bit from the 80s/90s and even then I don’t think that there ever were such things as “evil drug pushers deliberately marketing to teens and pre-teens”. When I first started getting more into MDMA in the early 90s (I was 20 and just been chucked out of University in London and returned to the middle class suburban area of SE England my family house was in) there was a big peer group of friends into raves, music, drugs who ranged in age from their early teens (13/14) to their 30s.
We all treated each other as young adults although the older lot did try and look after those who were younger. Even so it wasn’t ideal as boundaries were blurred; cops did watch us very closely folllowing (understandable) concerns from the middle class parents of younger teens and in hindsight we were all sailing very close to the wind – luckily the drugs were more expensive and less strong back then which limited their affordability amongst the younger ages.
it was only because of the EU and the arrival of the Internet that authorities Europe wide officially defined “children” as age 0-18 and “young adults” at around 18-25. At the same time popular culture shortens childhood even more than in the 80s. I knew exactly what recreational drug use was when I was 10/11 (as my late father indulged to some extent) – but didn’t even become interested in drugs myself until I was well into my teens.
An article today from a criminology prof who runs a volunteer drugs testing service at events (I think she is based at a uni near where Tryptameanie lives) explains the reason behind the rise in “child friendly” logos – it is not to try and get kids “hooked” but more to market the pills to young adult women in Europe in their 30s and beyond who are often trying to relive their own youth.
It also confirms the source for the picture of the bear shaped pill (which does look much more like a panda, than a European bear!)
Even if they didn’t sell it to them just given them away is treating them kids as there lab rats, what state would the 2fellas be in if they took them first, would they then give them away, anyway the point I’m making is if I was selling /handing stuff out if someone looked young I’d definitely as how old they are if I feel there lying I’d tell them to fuck off, but that wod never happen I’d stick to friends and if a friends friend needs then they can go tho the friend, people need to remember these are kids let them ha e a life and be a kid they should still be out running about a park having fun, not feeling the need to take drugs and for scumbags either young or old adults they shouldn’t be making it that easy for kids to get hold of the stuff
I’m saying the fellas went out looking kids to give shit to but if u dnt no the person personally well enough either by age or maturity levels then dnt get involved especially if they look under 18 and as for 16/17year old most of them no someone personally who can sort them out in a safe way and if they dnt then there not interested in them
N the way I look st kids is if there still in school age they dnt need drink or drugs and they definitely dnt need it to be that easy to get them items
I totally agree with this (although it was a young man and woman (possibly a couple) who handed out the pills, not two lads) – as this is exactly what happened “back in the day”. Our local dealers were often themselves parents and would refuse to serve any drugs to those below age 18 and by the 2000s some would even ask for age ID (as young people were more likely to carry it due to wider controls on alcohol and tobacco sales).
It does seem to be a “British maybe even an English” problem confined to some areas and caused by our increasing lack of wider community and family values – I don’t think its a coincidence that there seem to be less of these problems in Scotland, Ireland (IE perhaps more than NI) and Wales (all of which via the EU now have more enlightened attitudes to harm reduction) as well as amongst other ethnic minority communities in the UK even though they take as many drugs as anyone else.
I stopped acitvely partying and supporting the unlicensed event scene in my region myself a few years back as the amount of young teenagers in my region who were getting heavily into hard drugs genuinely worried me (even though I am not a parent); I was getting “old enough to be their Dad” and the Police were (not unsurprisingly) profiling single men who had a lot of “younger friends” on suspicion of organised crime, dealing and worse stuff like grooming.
To be fair the bulk of young starters/users do not suffer direct harm through overdoses; they do end up fucking up their lives in other ways such as not completing basic education and suffering various mental health issues which creates a vicious circle as they lack the scientific knowledge that is required to encourage younger friends to use harm reduction techniques or become parents and then find it difficult to control their kids as they grow up into teenagers. That has been going on here 20-30 years now and England is now reaping the consequences.
The current governments insistence on prohbition and demand reduction makes things far worse as everything is “pushed under the carpet” and what little help exists is targeted at people who have already ended up in prison or hospital rather than trying to keep them out in the first place.

latest reports claim the pills were bear-shaped, the 12 year old girls appear to have been given them for free by two young adults (arrested and bailed) of age 21 and 22. Thankfully the worst affected of the 3 girls has now recovered to the point they have been transferred from ICU ward at Alder Heys childrens hospital Liverpool to a normal observation ward; the other who was bluelighted is recovering and will soon be well enough to give a statement to detectives.
This really does look like an accident caused by the young adults being reckless and the girls perhaps trying (as pre teens do) to act “grown up and reballious” leading to a dangerous situation – although the relatives claim the girls mistook the pills for harmless sweets, MDMA and amfetamine type stimulants taste particularly awful and the production of sweets that look like pills (or vice versa) has been discouraged throughout Europe for 40 odd years…
Following some further research in Dutch I’m more inclined to believe at least one of the girls perhaps had some idea what they might be but underestimated the strength of what they could be taking. I found this on a Dutch site (a post from some years ago) discussing various pills
(Don’t forget the purple pandabear pills, content 226-238 mg / These are strong!)
The pills were described as “pink” in the news article below.
If anyone is wondering why there aren’t Dutch kids similarly keeling over (in some regions they are no more well behaved than English ones; currently a group of pre-teens are wanted by the police for terrorising a whole shopping centre) its because their drugs education does seem to encourage them to wait until they are a bit older and even normal users (not dealers) have the self control to hoard hundreds of pills for their own use and only take them one at a time.
The only unusual thing is that this area is completely the other side of the coast from NL; if it was the coastal routes you’d expect all this stuff to be flooding both the regions where myself and Tryptameanie live first!
I think that as well as way more suitable music events (MDMA isn’t much fun to do alone sat in front of a computer) there are a lot of Universities in NW England which attract European students particularly of “liberal arts” ; I wonder if these students are trading or even giving away quantities of pills as a genuine gesture of friendship to local young people, maybe to defuse the tensions and paranoia over “foreigners”; and a toxic combination of language barriers and lack of education is leading to these unfortunate incidents?
Those men deserve serious prison time for that.

This is worrying as it seems that we in Britain are increasingly fucking up on what appear to be perfectly decent and safe tablets from NL if used properly..
Even if they did have “teddy” bears on them as a marking such bears are not just American but a traditional European kids toy and were originally made to look a lot more realistic and scary; and many Europeans know instinctively to treat bears with respect (as there are still a fair few in EU nations!) – to North and East Europeans a bear is a symbol of strength and power…
That said I really don’t think 12 year old lasses in modern England really are going to simply swallow random pills handed out to them because the markings are cute or mistake them for sweets (if anything they would be more paranoid about sweets for fear of “getting fat”) and when I was last partying a few years ago the increasingly young age of drug users was starting to unnerve me; I would regularly encounter youths of 15-17 of both genders who genuinely had started taking the “harder” party drugs as young as 12/13 and most said that smoking and alcohol use was rife by the final years of junior school in comparision to my generation who started around 14/15.
This (and a lot of the recent fatal ODs across England) come across as the sort of accident that easily occurs when you’ve got social groups spanning two generations with parents of my age who might be understandably more liberal minded but perhaps don’t have the knowledge/parenting skills to teach harm reduction to the younger generations (who are likely to ignore a lot of it anyway) and limit their supplies
I started with tobacco and cannabis around age 15, was able to get (albeit limited) supplies of pharm grade amfetamines by age 16 and although it clearly hasn’t caused me any known permanent harm I personally think its a bit young to start on these and in the 1980s high cost and limited availability also reduced harm as you couldn’t do them too often even if you wanted to….
A lesser (but not insignificant) disadvantage of starting heavy use too early is you burn out quicker as well; all those teen/20 something ravers I knew 9/10 years ago burned out by their mid 20s whereas there are some of my generation who kept partying to their early 40s (and some who occasionally still do it)…

And to reply to ur comment, which is a sad example why drugs should be legalized without loosing too much time in debating in a first step, cuz laws between a votation and the effective entry in action takes a few years sometimes.
So in that special society problem of drugs, they should first legalize it and then adjust each drug separately trying to find the best way to handle it, and the the wasted money used for repression, the taxes taken on the legal market and all other income could solve a big part of that society problem :
ONCE MORE, THE RESPOSABILITIES OF THIS ACCIDENT IS THE STATE AND WITH THEIR REPRESSION SYSTEM :
If the drugs were legal, and the way to buy them were alowded for adults only, they would evidently also be a black market for the teenager. BUT THE QUALITY AND THE DOSES WOULD BE SAFE FOR AND IT WOULDN’T HAPPEND SUCH ACCIDENTS
FOR ME, THE STATE IS RESPONSIBLE WITH THEIR RIDICULOUS DRUG WAR
