texan bar
Launched in 1975.
Withdrawn in 1985.
Reason for its withdrawl (as given by Nestle) was the miners strike of 1984, apparently it was made in Halifax and the strike prevented lorries entering and leaving the plant
Excellent research mate!
I find the miners strike allegations hard to believe; Nestlé aren’t exactly sympathetic to left-wing activists (they were and perhaps still are protest targets due to aggresively marketing baby milk in third world countries) so I think its one of their managers trying to have a subtle dig at trade unionism.. (it may be the case though that their lorries were being blockaded by activists because of the baby milk scandals)
did they expect people to think that there are chocolate mines in the North of England and that the miners were pelting Willy Wonka with lumps of coal whilst shouting “scab!” at him?
haha:laugh_at:
Nutty bars, used to love em 🙂
