Be aware there are one or more gangs targeting clubbers attending the events in Vauxhall and the surrounding area.
These scum seem to have knowledge of the club scene and are able to identify “out of area” cars parked near venues
People are getting stuff like cameras, laptops and records nicked from their motors. The thieves are using power tools and other brute force methods to obtain the items from vehicles so even alarms won’t stop them.
also there are some nasty robberies (muggings) happening – be careful out there
of course there are a lot of people what bring these thigns to events because they are contributing some creative input to the event – but it may be worth arranging to bring this kit into secure storage within the venue and have someone trusted keep an eye on it rather than trust it in the car
or if you are photographing events for DSI or any other “club photo” places just bring your camera and the memory chips rather than any other kit and get everything insured on a all risks policy
and always log your serial numbers of equipment (all cameras have them)
and back up all files on equipment taken “off site” from your home (such as photos with sentimental value)
sadly it also appears that people are also often robbed by those they know (or at least acquaintances), so be careful who you befriend and who you show kit off to…
