  • Seems that I’m a bit late to this party. Hate may be a strong word, but if I had to choose one, it would have to be Meth. Being that jacked is the complete opposite of how I like to feel. Although I’m now starting to crave a “natural high”, whatever that is 😉

On a very personal level I dislike Weed and Alcohol the most because it has messed up a lot of ex close friends of mine, they are still smoking weed and drinking and will never progress with their lives or grow.

These drugs just put them in a state of procrastination, mundane, destructive addiction yet because the consequences aren’t as fast and extreme as other drugs they can be much easier brushed under the carpet and denied even though most of the people in question are totally insane and wasting their lives because they’d prefer to scrape money to buy a pathetic rip off gram or two of weed every few days to get a shitty boring high which makes being a total loser fun for a few hours.

Then in their denial of their own problem, deflect onto others who take drugs which they don’t agree with. The fact these people have been smoking and drinking weekly for 10-15 years of their life still doesn’t seem to give them acceptance they have a problem… I hope some of them can find their way to a more spiritual fulfilling life because they will have serious mental health issues and even worse self-esteem issues than they already have. Weed + Alcohol shouldn’t have this accepted status of being different to most drugs, this causes their abuse to be met with major denial and destruction.

Don’t smoke or drink anymore personally because of mental health and I can totally relate. I’m youngish and still in college(2nd try) and for some people I used to party with, I see them doing big things in their life be it grad school or traveling the world or whatever but then there are those who’ll be doing this same shit when they are 40… maybe they never had the potental to do great things or maybe societal acceptance of their substance (ab)use is to blame and they just want to bring you back into their cricle of users like nothing ever changed.

You bring up an intresting point, unfortuantely it is internal discipline that allows some to smoke and drink and still be successful while others perputate the stoner sterotype and are leading deeply unfufilling lives but for whatever reason can’t wrap their heads around the fact: maybe they don’t want to. Is it their use that is making their life suck or are they using to cope with a shitty life? Then they think it is your problem.

Anyone who thinks they’re that head and body strong that after decades of non-stop chemical abuse that the drugs haven’t had a serious negative health impact on them are just ignorant. Drugs totally drain your personality and block your feelings, good and bad. When most get a bit of clean time they’re generally still ill and cannot handle the bad feelings because they spent so long using on them and do not know how to live sober anymore. No sane person smokes a spliff or drinks a pint or does a line when something bad happens to them as that is no solution it just blocks a legit feeling which teaches a lesson or helps a linear set of actions.

When the happy chemicals balance out and physical health returns normally within a month – two months you gain a new happiness, you can feel all the happy feelings you have been blocking which you’d forgotten existed come back.

Anyway my point being, drugs used even on a weekly basis make you live a shittier life, drugs solve nothing they just induce fun for a few hours at a cost. Luckily for some they are less sensitive and can find a healthy balance but I’m sure those people still wake up the day after a session and feel like a total shit bag all morning.

There are no bad drugs just bad dosages or bad recipients. Can habitually take your poison and lead a productive and full life just don’t overdo it or even underdo it .BALANCE is the key

Yes I agree there are no ‘bad’ drugs. Drugs do not choose us initially, we choose them and good and bad is a perception, kind of like this thread. Which drug do you least like? It’s about opinions. Though speaking from experience some drugs there was absolutely no balance for myself or anyone else taking them who I knew. Once we started we either couldn’t stop or couldn’t stop going back whether it was an hour, a day, a month… Sadly drugs aren’t as simple as just balancing them, they’re much more complicated, cunning and deceiving. I wouldn’t advise anyone to go out and try and balance out using Heroin or Crack or whatever your drug of choice is. When you take a drug you become a different person whether you wish to agree with me or not, and when you’re a different person you do not know what you will do, how you will feel and act, that is like trying to balance someone else for them, it’s impossible.

Everyone is different I have taken opiates for just about thirty years never getting a habit but seen other people who you know are just dead men walking .after a while you can spot these people long before they have their first heroin experience .Same with psychosis the people who develop drug induced mental health problems already had one foot in the door and the chances are they would have developed these problems anyway because of other stimuli.death of a loved one .broken relationship .pressure at work or other life eventsDrugs are not for everyone but also are they not for anyone. This world would be a lot poorer art music and culturewise /The responsibility lies with the person and not with what they have taken.I have lost many friends along the way but me path and my individual worth are unaltered. As for me not being me when I take drugs am I me when my brain is flooded with natural chemicals when I am angry sad rewarded for some task or in love.I am still myself

PS I don’t like benzos or id weakening drugs but some people do that’s up to them

If you’ve been abusing drugs for over 30 years I’d put money on that you’ve had some serious consequences along the way as a result of taking drugs. Now I may be speaking out of turn but the fact you’re on a drugs forum, coming up to around age 45-50 (?) and from what I’ve seen you post, quite obsessive about drugs, quite a worrying sign that maybe you have more a serious drug issue than you would like to admit.

I’ll reiterate my point, if you take hard drugs you are not the same person. My opinion, if you disagree that’s fine. But me under the influence of drugs is not me and the same goes for every other person I’ve ever met. But maybe you’re special and different.

If any of what I’ve posted offended you, I do apologise.

Not offended just defending something close to my heart And as far as issues go I have loads

Honestly, I have usually enjoyed any drug I’ve tried, which isn’t that many. When I smoke weed, I sometimes have a panic attack, but that’s been the only negative for me.
