Hi I am doing a dissertation titled “Alcohol and Drug use at U.K music festivals; A comparative case study on policy and behaviour”.
This being the case I am looking into the effects of music on behaviour, drug and alcohol use of youth culture, policies of music festivals and comparing between three music festivals. Creamfields, Gotwood, and Camp bestival.
Would like to know what your individual attitudes are on dance culture, drink and drug use, and festival policy of Creamfields music festival, or either of the three mentioned.
Thanks 🙂
All festivals have no drug use policies, because drugs are illegal.
However, the people who run the festivals and the security KNOW that there will be a lot of drugs going on so there is only so far they are willing to go to try and prevent this.
Creamfields is an electronic dance based festival, and raving and drugs go hand in hand (where else do people get the energy to stay up dancing to heavy music all night?)
Being intoxicated at music festivals is very socially accepted, as long as you keep to a certain level of etiquette and treat other festival goers with respect.
However camp bestival is a more family festival, so there are marginally less drugs compared to creamfields.
Thanks very much for this 🙂 can’t wait to finish this essay
